Cattwg
A Google search “campsites near Ullswater” brings up quite a few options. I found this campsite on the www.campsites.co.uk - Waterfoot Park and from its website we get “It is only a short walk from the Ullswater 'Steamers' Pier, the charming village of Pooley Bridge”. Keithl
Hi, There are eight shown around the lake on the Campsite Finder of this website... https://www.outandaboutlive.co.uk/campsites/campsite-finder/search?keyword=penrith&locationId=42&locationName=Cumbria Or you could find Ullswater on Google maps then 'Search nearby' for 'Camping'. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/search/camping/@54.5695701,-2.9333055,12.48z/data=!4m8!2m7!3m5!1scamping!2s54.5661,+-2.9233!4m2!1d-2.9232691!2d54.5660896!6e1 Keith. Twosox
Thank you for your replies. I have already done both the suggestions, but what I am after of course is the views of the experienced members who have actually visited the sites. I say this because in a previous life I was one of the wardens on a large park and the website and the reality were far apart. Thank you.
Twosox
How strange, I thought the Lake district would be popular, obviously not.
