But that can be what happens when the arms are out of adjustment, i.e. not level. It sounds like the one that is catching needs to be slightly raised. The way to look at it is to part wind out the awning so that the arms are still doubled up and look at the relevant level of each opposing arms knuckle joint to see if one is lower than the other. If as I suspect the one that is catching is lower then you need to adjust the arm nut to raise it slightly until it retracts and releases as it should. It's a very easy adjustment, and quick, but is more difficult to explain than do. By the way if it is this that's the problem do not over adjust or it will rattle as you drive along. It's possible that the sprung brackets, or least ways that end one, requires freeing off or adjusting. The aim is for the spring to partially rotate the arms into the casing to pull the cover closed, if either they are out of adjustment or they are partially seized they will cause circumstances that you describe. The full adjustment procedure is in the wind outs instructions manual. I have had exactly the same issues in the past, use of a PFTE based lubricant and very careful use of spanners should cure your problem. Bas

I am not sure KellyP is correct regards using the booster pack to charge the main battery, as in the case of mine it states connect to battery terminals and then start the vehicle. In fact if you do leave connected longer than three minutes it automatically cuts off and you have to press a reset button before you can use to start the vehicle. I have to say I was very sceptical but having used it on several different vehicles it has worked perfectly on first turn of the key. Bas

I believe Brian sums it perfectly. We have tried both major clubs but have stuck with the C&MC as we found the other not to our taste. We do however rarely use the club sites and really only keep the membership for the CL's as in our opinion the club site fees are exorbitant and it's a real faf booking them. We are also members of the MCC which is a pleasant friendly club though limited. As Brian since the 70's we spend most of our time abroad at the same time period as him, also using ACSI as well as Municipals and Aires. In Europe we have never booked a site in advance, and won't into the future, with never an issue. We have done this every year except during lockdown where we only visited our family, when allowed I might add, staying on their own property. The motorhome really came into its own then allowing us to see each other safely. Personally, in answer to your question, I would do as we did and join both main clubs and try both out during the membership year and drop the one you dislike from the second year, or both of course! At least then you will be able to make a fair comparison on your own knowledge rather than accepting others opinions. Bas

Just to add, Regulation 2(5)(e) of the safety regs. expressly excludes privately owned caravans and motorhomes from the requirements to have work on the gas system carried out by a Gas Safe or qualified person though it does say competent. Therefore the owner of a privately owned caravan or motorhome is not breaking any rules if they do choose to remove and replace a gas carrying article, e.g. the fixed governor or a gas fridge say. That doesn't mean to say they should, but some of the previous comments seemed to me to be suggesting that it was not legal. Bas
