  1. sorry I meant to say 2.9, barrier showed 2.6, this dam metric, give me feet anyday
  2. I remember about 30 years ago landing at LeHarve with my first van abroad I went under the suterrain?, frightend me stiff when I realised that it was only for cars etc, I made it no problem but on the return I checked the height barrier notice as I went by on the normal road, it said 6.5 mt, my van was 6,9mt, how close was that to taking the roof off?
  3. and I'll be doing the same👍
  4. friends of mine with a 2000 tag axel van, Crit'air5 also drove through Rouen a few weeks ago, no problem
  5. I'll be coming down from Yvetot so should be ok. as for crit'air 3, the way I see it is that until 2024 campervans are still allowed through Rouen regardless of sticker No.
  6. is the A 13 inside or outside the rouen LEZ?
  7. years ago during the French fuel strike I managed to drive from Folkstone all the way down to Barcelona on 1 tank full plus the 5 Lts out of my spare can I admit I do have a long range tank fitted, (150 Lts) and I was driving very light footed, this in a 2.8 TDI hymer.
  8. To be clear. Merely joking. that's what I should have written in my OP😉
  9. yes really, I'm not stupid, do you think I would like the smell of diesel smelling everywhere for weeks it's bad enough when you get it on your hands when filling the van, it stinks for ages
  10. many thanks Derek, I think I'll use it for a weed killer instead
  11. I've been carrying a spare 5 lt can of diesel (just in case!) but it has been in the side locker for the last 4-5 years, is it ok to now put it in the tank and fill the can up again with fresh diesel. I know petrol is different and may cause problems but is diesel ok?
  12. thanks for your input, very helpful, but when I took the bulbs out and tested them they were ok so I used contact cleaner on the sockets, still no joy then I sprayed a little on the switch inside and rocked it on and off a few times then WOW the light came on so all good now. many thanks to Derek and onecal
  13. the outside light bulb has gone but I don't seem to be able to get the cover off, anybody know how to remove the plastic cover?
  14. having my cam belt changed in a couple weeks on my hymer B694, (2001) first changed at 60k, now 100k, the garage first said they always change the water pump and auxiliary belt at the same time, then after checking said that as the water pump is not run by the cam belt so not sure if they will replace the water pump at the same time, maybe I should give them a call and ask them to do the water pump as well, correct in my thinking? (hope the pump comes out easy! many years ago on my old hymer 544 the water pump needed replacing while in Spain the Fiat garage could not withdraw the old pump out, (wheel arch in the way) short story, took 2 days with us sleeping in the garage, knackered the bearings in the gearbox trying to lever the motor over forcing the drive shaft into the gear box, drove home in 4th gear then at home had gear box out and all bearings replaced.
  15. a bit warm to work but today I took advice from here and jacked up each side in turn and greased the axles, only managed to get about 3-4 strokes of the gun before I felt a definite resistance so stopped so hopefully that's it for the next 12 months. thanks for your help
  16. how do I know when to stop pumping the grease gun when greasing the tag axle on hymer B 694, (wheels off the ground)
  17. I had the same on my old hymer, the pads needed replacing, sorted
