Comfort Insurance provides the following advice

    https://www.comfort-insurance.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/continental_travel.pdf

When a Comfort Insurance client actually NEEDS a Green Card, a £25 charge is levied. Presumably, if a client insisted that a Green Card be provided even though travel would only be within the EU, where having a Green Card is unnecessary for  UK drivers, the same £25 fee would be charged.

On my recent  renewal with Comfort they issued a Green Card at no cost with the insurance certificate etc.  Perhaps they have changed their policy regarding issuing them and hidden the cost in with the premium?

  2. Perhaps the automatic box is heavier and so the chassis is uprated from the normal light chassis front axle weight of 1850kg to the plated 1960kg?  Perhaps the larger hubs and wheels with the larger PCD are part of that uprating?

have you got a meter to enable you to check voltages?

    Hi again,

no luck I’m afraid, had the van on mains hook up, 12v on.

have turned the power on /off & tried with engine running but no joy !

the light comes on when the door is open so definitely power getting through but no noise & definitely no cooling !

I guess that you need the services of someone with knowledge of DC and the use of a meter. As I understand it the operation is basic with an electrical supply which goes to the condenser via the thermostat.

Is your the model with the condenser separate from the main unit? I think the engine running has no effect, the fridge is a pure 12v/24v unit which operates at all times from the leisure battery.

  5. I am not sure what a Pacific card is.

it is mandatory to purchase the PASS’ÉTAPES card, currently €5, and use it to obtain entry etc.

The card has / had to be recharged to pay for your stay.

You can of course recharge the card with the amount to pay on the on site terminal using your credit card.

Something in the back of my mind is recently receiving an email from them  which I think said you could use your own CC to pay for the stay without recharging your card but I didn't keep it?

  6. The 240v icon is actually a 'charger on' one.  It is an output from the EBL which indicates that the charger has an output -  and therefore there must be  a 240v input.

I have attached part of the schematic drawing of my EBL 271. The 'Mains indicator' output to the panel is on Block 8 pin 6. This comes from the output of the battery charger pin A7 / PCB pin A10.

  7. its just the way they work. The float action is fairly primitive and in the green  most of the range.  Just look on the yellow as a warning and don't be surprised when it runs out on the red.

If you have an auto changeover then leave it on the in use bottle and when it gets into the yellow open the second bottle so that it changes over to it when the first bottle runs out.
