  1. Very long time since I had one but perhaps remove the cover and see what is happening to the operating rod at the gas valve?
  2. Lucie, I am paying approx £60 a year for my subscription to both magazines. How much a year will a subscriber to the new magazine pay? Will I be better off cancelling my subscription of many years and taking out a new one? Ray
  3. Do current subscribers of both magazines get a discount now it is one?
  4. The solar panel should have a regulator between it and the battery. It is the regulator that 'cuts in' in daylight and it should ensure the battery is not overcharged by the solar whether on EHU or not. Both the solar regulator and the EHU charger contain circuits that ensure the battery is not overcharged. As the battery volts rise the charging current decreases
  5. The step will retract if the motor receives 12v D+ signal when the engine runs and a negative via the step switch which is closed when the step is NOT fully retracted. A comprehensive description of how the step operation works from that great font of knowledge Clive Motts. There is no fuse solely associated with the step auto closing unless it is part of the the D+ feed. Note that the 12v D+ signal operates the relay which then switches it through the relay to the motor. The relay carries out other functions but the only time it operates is when the 12v D+ signal is present when the engine is running to retract the step. https://motts.org/Omnistep.htm
  6. I am fairly certain that a 2014/15 Fiat Ducato does not have a DPF so there is no regeneration to worry about. It could be the last of the euro 4 which had a single catalytic convertor or a euro 5 which has a dual Catalytic Converters [ strictly speaking a pre catalytic converter and the final catalytic converter]. The DPF with its regeneration was introduced at Euro 6b in 2016 for 2017 model year and further developed in 2019 at euro 6b with DPF and ad blue.
  7. "that shortly after turning the heater on there is an expected drop in voltage to just over 8v which then should return to +12v once the burner is lit" That is a massive volts drop. My D2 heater drops the voltage by about 0.3v whilst the glow plug is heating up
  8. Is a 2014/15 Ducato Euro 4 or 5 likely to have a DPF? I thought the DPF, together with the ability to regen was introduced at euro 6 around the end of 2016?
  9. I remember it now, my experience was in a new Bailey caravan I bought in 1993!
  10. When pressed in /down the base of the knob hits the oven panel. This can prevent the shaft going fully in. When the knob is packed out a little it does not go on the shaft so deep thus allowing the shaft to go in further.
  11. Try pushing the rod in it with the knob removed [push fit / pull off]. I has a motorhome many years ago with the same problem from new. It turned out to be the knob was not pushing the rod far enough in to operate the thermocouple correctly. From what I remember all that was required was to pull the knob off and pack a bit of tissue inside it and refit it.
  12. Start by finding out why the step does not retract on engine start up. Leave the fridge switched off. https://www.motts.org/Omnistep.htm If you can extend the step with the engine running there is obviously a fault. Is the D+ signal present at the step?
  13. Is this one at Coastal the correct orientation?
  14. This side view photo shows that the gauge is on a sliding 'pin' which has to be pressed in to alllow gas flow in a similar way to the green button on a burst protected high pressure hose
  15. Have you : Once connected to the regulator and the gas appliance the display dial must then be pressed inwards to allow gas to flow as it has a push/pull button function that controls the flow valve."?
  16. This similar one, but with spanner connection, instructions say "Once connected to the regulator and the gas appliance the display dial must then be pressed inwards to allow gas to flow as it has a push/pull button function that controls the flow valve.". It may not be compatible with auto c/o units. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/143220316351
  17. If a fine is issued I wonder what the owner of the vehicle can do to prevent further fines. If the vehicle passes the MOT then what else is left at their disposal?
  18. They are not required for Belgium or Germany
  19. I meant the LPG station was unmanned. It was not a diesel/petrol station just LPG. The pump was an auto pump with card payment and available 24/7.
  20. I used an 24/7 unmanned pump in Germany last month. https://lpg-autogas-franken-gmbh.business.site/
  21. You would not need to change the regulator. Just connect the red PROPANE bottle/s to the regulator/changeover via high pressure hose/s. Remove the gaslow input hose and fit a blank plug to the filler if you want it to stay in place.
  22. My temporary repair in Spain and inside the latch housing showing broken spring
  23. The latch on my Pilote toilet compartment door was similar by the sound of it. I found a new one on eBay for about £14 that was advertised as being for a Coachman caravan

    Waterpump

I guess the question is if there were no requirement for a timing belt replacement how often would the water pump be changed as a precaution against failure?
  25. The cover was often not refitted after battery inspection / change etc especially by Fiat garages
