  1. Yes you can purchase the tag on line. works superb
  2. Average 2 storey house is 5.5 - 6 ltrs tall. Can’t imagine how a 6.9 Mtr MH would catch side winds. 😉
  3. Thank you HJA I’ll probably try it for a couple of trips 3 or 4 days and see how it goes. I’m not hopeful though. thanks again den
  4. Hi HJA just received notification after waiting for our new van that it’s arrived. with loads going on personally I overlooked the fridge is a compressor type. 2nd battery being fitted along with a 100w solar panel, but from what you and others say I’m going to have battery problems. may I ask what make of lithium battery you fitted and price please. thanks Dennis
  5. In France a kind lady from the payment booth walked over to us with a French adapter. we already had one, but so kind of her and we found so many more garages with gas than the Uk. Never had a problem in the Uk, I just top up frequently and never let it worry me.
  6. Our Tom Tom some years back took us off the Mediterranean motorway through a nice village and back onto the motorway at the same junction. made us smile no damage done and only took a few mins. that was the first and last time it’s thrown a wobbly
  7. WD40 is not a lubricant more water dispersant and will only lubricate for a very short while. I would use 3in 1 or silicone spray ideal for plastic gears etc

    Ad Blue

Son in law and I used Adblu purchased on eBay. big big mistake. All the minibuses and my Torneo had problems. tanks were emptied and now we only use Adblu from a pump and keep a couple of 20 ltr containers for back up. for the cost savings it’s not worth it and you have no way of telling if it’s the genuine item.
  9. I find it very strange that absolutebeginner posted the original question and like many people they do not respond to questions regarding make/ model etc. the post keeps going. I find this a little rude and no thought for those that respond and sometimes are taking the time to research for them.
  10. For the first 1000 miles it’s suggested you keep below 3000 rpm and to reach 3000 rpm regularly during the 1000 miles. don’t forget they are based on workhorses and the engines do need to work to keep them from sooting up after the run in period. with all our new vehicles, Ford , merc, Renault and Fiat I personally run them in and all achieve big mileages 600,000 is not uncommon. we now only use premium fuels using mainly Shell and very occasionally we tank up with the shell V-Power. good luck with your new MH and enjoy. we pick our new one up soon. first run will run it in with a trip to Spain via the tunnel booked. den
  11. Hi Graham yes this is completely normal, our previous Malibu 16 reg and our 19 reg A class super lightweight Cathago. even the new one we’re waiting for is springy mum somewhat overweight and no damage has ever happened den
  12. This will be our 2nd Malibu 640, we purchased the first one in 2016 and it was superb. Not one fault. We then changed to to the Cathago and again it’s quality is excellent but our way of motorhoming suits the the 640 and the wife will drive that one. yes the price was agreed on the new one at the Oct MH show and with this particular supplier I’ve always been very happy with px, changing gas bottles and the inverter.
  13. Normally when we are travelling in or out of France we stop over in Etaples or LeTouquet on a few occasions when travelling with little time to spare we tend to travel around 150 miles and stop in a motorway services ( so many say you shouldn’t) close to the well lit area near the main part of the services.
  14. We take delivery late June ish. we agreed a fixed price which has been increased by 2k due to the increase in Motorhomes now. the very fair price was offered by the sellers of the new MH and nice for me took no negotiating, which I’m more than happy to do but on this occasion it wasn’t necessary. present MH is a 69 reg Cathago super lightweight and the new one will be a Malibu 640.
  15. It all very much depends on the supplier. money of our new Motorhomes had 32 faults, but the service from both LeVoyageur and Hayes leisure was superb and dealt with all the problems quickly. ( they paid all our costs, hotel and a car while did carried out repairs at the factory in France ) it shouldn’t have been the case but the way everyone took notice, didn’t try to fob me off made life much nicer. have you spoken with the company and are they willing to carry out repairs quickly to your expectations. and yes faults are part of motorhoming. So I thought. We are on our second Cathago, first one being a Malibu PVC and our present one being a Super light weight no faults in 7 years of ownership and with the new Malibu PVC 640 with loads of toys due for delivery soon I’m sure and hope it will be just as good. this can be put down to manufacture and Goeuropean doing a superb job of accessories fitted and PDI by very competent staff. 🤞🏻the company will sort your problems.
  16. Most decent garages should be able to source a reconditioned engine or arrange for yours to have a rebuild. we use a commercial garage for our transit minibuses and midi coaches. he has no problems finding, gearboxes rear axles ( all reconditioned) so I’m sure whatever you are someone will be able to help specially a more commercially oriented garage. den
  17. Hi Albert its Supa Mac IPTV cost wise around £40 ( my son put the app on my phone for me ) it works brilliantly in France and Spain using my iPhone Data and when possible Wi-Fi my main reason for it was F1 and very rarely it buffers and gives a first class viewing experience
  18. For some time I’ve been using a Apple Lightning Digital AV Adapter and a reasonably good HDMI cable and you can keep your iPhone charged through the adapter. work’s absolutely brilliantly in the Uk and in the EU using my Supa App. I upgraded my Vodafone contract to unlimited and even though they give you a fair usage abroad, in 2 weeks I didn’t exceed this and with a little thought over a longer period ie 3 weeks the first 2 weeks will be in the one month and the 3 Rd week in the following month. I use it for tv and F1 without any problems
  19. I’m France we were told we needed a French address. when I checked at a vet we’ve used a few times, they did not request a Spanish address. im 50% lucky in a way. we did have a place in Spain until we sold it July 2021. But we still have bills to show etc and a Spanish account along with my wise account. so 🤞🏻when we go next year the deed can be done.
  20. Thanks Angela good to hear you’ve not experienced any problems with your EU passports. we used to use a very nice vet in Etaples and during our visit in August he mentioned he was retiring in September ☹️. he was excellent and very reasonable for our 2 dogs. we’ll arrange for the passport and AHC to be stamped in Spain by the passport supplying vet. thanks again for your reassurance Den
  21. Hi Angel great to hear from someone whom has the EU dog passports. I guessed we’d still have to visit a vet on our return, but it’s nice you’ve confirmed it. do you have any problems at all on your return using the EU passports. peter. my wife just reminded me like they all do. I was wrong with the price. mot was actually £125.00 for both dogs. this was done at Henwick vets, Worcester. very modern veterinary practice and extremely good. den
  22. Hi Dave. We’ve taken ours using the HC which we paid £120 for our 2 dogs. In July this year. plus of course the French vet to administer the worming tablets and sign the paperwork. €30 for the 2 dogs. we have used a vet in Spain for 6 years and they confirmed we can have EU passports no problem. just wanted to know if a visit to an eu vet before returning. website not to clear on this.
  23. Going to Spain next year and will acquire passports for our 2 dogs. question is. has anyone got the EU passports for their dogs and if so do you still have to use a vet prior to travelling back to the UK thanks Den.
