  1. hi we always travel with insurance and wondered how good the LeShuttle insurance is. has anyone made a claim and had to be repatriated back to UK from France/ Spain I see they don’t ask too many health questions. thanks den
  2. Thanks Keith thought it was strange but with so much going on it slipped my mind and a spell in hospital didn’t help. den
  3. Hi not sure if I’m missing the latest MMM the last copy I received was the December 2023 and I thought the January issue should have arrived by now or is Xmas delaying the Jan copy. thanks den
  4. Thanks Keith & Colin I’ll send them an email to register for senior citizens and not yet veteran with only 22 years thanks agsin den
  5. Hi HJA I’ve been aware that the club offer discounts for OAP’s but I’ve not noticed it the booking system. I tend to book by phone but I did look on the app after reading you reply. Is there a section I should look for thanks Dennis
  6. We are cancelling our membership after being members since 2002 looked for a site near lands end for the 3rd Jan. £40.00 !!! I didn’t want to buy the site and decided to stay overnight in Exmouth for £11 for 24 hours. I use Park 4 night and found it suits us perfectly specially abroad
  7. We made a booking last November 2022 for travel in July 23 , but all was put on hold after finding I needed a heart op. so luckily they now allow travel to be taken within 18 months of purchase allowing me to book for late April but I wanted to book another trip for September 24 and waited patiently for a discount email !!
  8. I’m guessing you purchased your MH from a MH dealer. They will have offered a warranty, I’ve only purchased 1 pre owned MH and that was covered for 12 months.
  9. I would contact the dealer whom supplied the motorhome, hopefully not Hayes leisure ( closed the business) failing that contact Chausson directly or the Uk representative. when I sold my LeVoyageur to a private buyer they had several jobs done under warranty here in the Uk and France by the manufacturer.
  10. Thanks for the reply Paul I thought it was strange I haven’t received anything and only offers in the app are for 3rd party companies. I miss the frequent traveler scheme. den
  11. Out of interest has anyone been emailed with special offers from LeShuttle. after they stopped the Frequent traveler scheme I was told they will instead offers special offers. I’ve never received any and thought they might Black Friday etc.
  12. Hi Grumpyman one of my drivers had her forward facing dash cam hard wired and was very tidy. Cables hidden and leaving the 12v socket free for other uses.
  13. I can fully understand you wanting to restart. we have been camping, tugging and Motorhomes since 2002. November 2022 I was told I had a serious aortic valve problem. Gulp !! now sorted and desperate to restart our EU travel in April. we even traveled to Spain in July 2022 and it was amazing, so quiet in Spain. for us nothing has changed abroad maybe the Aires are a little more expensive but still much easier than the Uk and still good value. we have a new Malibu van with Adblu. our minibuses have had problems ( fords , Mercedes and Iveco ) but all on very high mileage and not caused to many serious problems, certainly not enough to put me off purchasing new. enjoy and I’m sure you will. den
  14. Not a fan of using string. I strip 3 core cable for wire guiding. You can pull and gently push at the same time and won’t come undone half way.
  15. We purchased a Malibu with quite a loaded specification including AEB including pedestrians and cyclists On one occasion it did brake, not severely when a vehicle cut in on the motorway very close and slowed down to take the exit. it worked superbly. I did have adaptive cruise control on my Ford Transit custom and covered in 2 years 100 ,000 plus miles using the ACC 90% of the time on the motorways. Brilliant windscreen was kept clean at all times and I’m sure I used for more than most of screen wash. I'm told you can only purchase new minibuses with the AEB so should be interesting when we purchase some early next year.
  16. All our 16 seater Ford transit minibuses are non maintenance 2 batteries are fitted and the one which tends to operate the electric step tends to for first. straightforward to change just loads of muscle to manipulate into place. my son in law does this. den

    Caravan Club

We’ve been members since 2002 and this is definitely the last year. im happy with a more basic site just as long as it’s clean. we enjoy more than anything the Aires in France and it’s probably spoilt us with their very reasonable prices and a couple sites we do stay at in France are so much cheaper the Caravan and MH club. my guess is upper management are taking mega wages.
  18. On taking passengers to Southampton docks I had a blow out in my Ford 8 seater with no spare and only a repair spray. tyre was slit in the side. Cost me a fortune to have my customers taken on and another fortune to have a cheap tyre fitted ( company did not have decent quality ones ) 1 week later another puncture and again I had to pay someone to take my customers to bhx. the gunge and small compressor is totally inadequate. I now carry a spare in the MH and sold the 8 seater. Without a spare. would I travel without. Heck no. the hassle it caused and the time lost without the money loss is not with saving a few kilos and loosing a little boot space.
  19. We have 2 apple supplied leads, quite old I guess that work perfectly when plugged into our phones. But for some strange reason if you rotate the plug in the phone both leads do not work. mall the other leads work whichever way you plug them into the phones.

    Ad Blue

The only way of being reasonably sure of purchasing a decent quality Adblu is to not purchase from eBay etc. we leant from our mistake to cut costs in our minibuses. we only purchase now from our local Texaco pump or from motorway services not had a problem since.
  21. I’m with Jeremy on Autoglym fantastic results. just follow the directions and you’ll be amazed at the results.
  22. I have 3 of the coach type stickers. I stuck them onto perspex and used commercial type Velcro to stick onto MH this making it easy to remove in the Uk just downsized and no longer required. live in Worcester and free to anyone that wants them den
  23. I think we can surmise from John is he will use out of date Adblu and most people after spending many thousands of pounds will make sure there Adblu is up to date. I personally will never have to empty mine because we do so many miles
  24. It’s quite simple and not worth discussing. if you want to use cheap, out of date Adblu then do so. if like me you are a little more sensible having spent thousands on Adblu and regeneration problems on our minibuses and luxury midi coaches ( 30 seaters) we now only use pump Adblu widely available and since we stopped using eBay Adblu etc have had little problems. we do keep a couple of 20ltr containers and these are rotated frequently. for the small cost of Adblu compared to mechanical problems it’s a small price to pay. I think some people just like wind up other people. pays your money and take the choice. of course you could be lucky like a smoker whom gets to 100 and says smoking never hurt me !!
