JamesFrance
You are describing the route we used to take to the Costa Blanca. Bayonne is a pain with traffic lights, so we used to go off the N10 at Castets then through Dax to spend the night in St Jean Pied de Port (closed camping in winter but gate left open and in centre of village). From there there is a low winding pass through to the N135 to Pamplona. Not much trafic and easy for a Hymer.

robertandjean
Hi, Whilst it is true that Bayonne is busy with traffic, indeed all area from here to Henday is, but Bayonne is an interesting town and worth a visit. We found best way, when touring area last Oct. was to base ourselves on aire at Anglet "Le haut des Corsaires" and use bus to visit both Bayonne and Biarritz. Now the aire at Anglet would not be to everyones taste, some on here would hate it, but we found it fine for our needs. It is hard-standing and all spaces are on a slope but only 200m to bus stop next to nice walks on sea front, but no views of sea. It also gets very busy at week-ends. (In july/Aug 6 €/night free rest year). Aire best found using sat nav, see camping-car infos web site for co-ordinates. If you do visit St-Jean-Pied-de-Port then the aire here is fine. It is next to a large school and an easy walk into town (5€/night)
starvin marvin
I would agree with all the info so far. If you want to go to Pamplona than take the N121A from Irun, this is now a brilliant drive, especially when coming back! Did you say you have a Hymen A class?? I think my wife used to have one of those.
