Keithl
Chris, Trying to think outside the box, is the fridge turned to 12 volt or switched off? If it is on then try turning it off. Keith.
Gregors
Hi All Thanks very much for all your help and comments I ended up popping into a local auto electriction and he has managed to identify that the stared battery was at fault and the relay also needed replacing. We have replaced both and now the fuses don't blow when turning the MH on and off. All we have to do now is work out the fridge issue. The guy is also going to check the inverter is wired in correct when this returns. Until the next time. Thanks again Chris
Brambles
Sounds like what was happening is the starter was drawing a lot of power from the alternator. When switching off the engine the alternator voltage starts to fall off but before the relay opens then the leisure battery can feed a high current to the starter battery. The odd thing about this though is how the starter battery could start the engine easily. Hmmmmmm! maybe.
Keithl
Possibly a bad earth on the starter battery restricting the charge it could get? But not bad enough to prevent the engine starting. Then the leisure batteries would have a higher state of charge when the engine was turned off? Thinking out loud here... Keith.
