cathythomas
We were recently out in our new van and some kind sole broke our Drivers side wing mirror. Has anyone any idea how to fit the new wing mirror. All help will be gratefully received
veletron
Just the back part? If so then you can get a new back section off the likes of amazon or ebay for around a fiver. A lorry driver on my side of the road trashed mine. If its just the back then you pop out the mirror glass, and find/remove the 5 or 6 screws that hold the back on then refit. I couldn't get a back for a 2015 van (X290), but the X250 one will fit - you need to pop out the temp sensor and drill a small hole in the new mirror back to fit it + some mastic to keep it in place. Maybe there are X290 backs out there now, this info is from Jan 2016. Long or short arm? You can get replacement backs for both. Fraction of the cost of new mirror if front part is OK. cathythomas
Thanks for the reply but unfortunately the whole of the bottom of the wing mirror was damaged and we need a complete new one. Its fitting a whole new one that we are enquiring about. We have heard that it has happened to others but we were wanting to know if anyone had fitted one themselves.
