Who really cares?

 

I like the Royals and I believe that they do much more good for the UK than they do harm.

 

Anyone who believes different is free to stand for parliament, or leave the country.

 

But it is much easier to belly ache on here as that costs nowt, takes little effort, and makes no difference at all.

 

You are as are welcome to your views John52 as is everyone else - just don't expect many people to agree with you.

Any person who thinks our Royal Family is expensive should perhaps look around the world at some of the quasi democratically elected rulers, try to estimate how much it must cost to maintain their family, friends, tribe and other hangers on, and take a note of what their political ambitions cost their own people and the rest of the world. I'm glad we have our system and can't think of any other that could serve us better.

Put aside the politics of envy and come to terms with the certain knowledge that if all your fantasies came true it is extremely unlikely that the likes of you and I would benefit one bit. More likely we would quite quickly slide down the poverty drain to be on level terms with the people of China, Russia, N Korea, and a lot of others peoples republics. Of course the likes of Corbyn would expect to be the beneficiary of such a move, and would expect the state to keep them in the manner to which they aspire, and insulate them against the discomforts and excesses of their incompetence.

Or..... they could look at the cost of the monarchies in Denmark, Norway,Netherlands, or Spain - and see how they compare to us.

Since she refuses to answer questions and is exempt from the Freedom of Information Act, her staff sworn to the Official Secrets Act and exempt from the Employment Protection Act, We only know what gets past her 30 full time spin doctors.

They are pretty good at presenting this middle class frugal image despite all the Palaces, but what she is really like at home the only people who know are not free to say.

Don't forget all the African despots we fund via our international aid programs, or the Romanian Gypsy Kings and Queens via our benefit system *-) .........

 

At least our monarchy provide a return on their tax take in the form of tourism and employment, unlike the above :-| .........
