Mackyjane
Are they allowing motorhome parking on the area in front of the police station in Salobreña? We got moved on from there last January, but would love to try again if we can.
keninpalamos
If there is one thing you can be certain of in Spain it's the uncertainty of where you can and can't "park" your camper from one year to the next *-) (lol)
Derek Uzzell
Mackyjane I believe you’ll find that ‘wild camping’ is no longer permitted at Salobrena. This article refers https://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=es&u=http://www.granadahoy.com/granada/Salobrena-estacionamiento-irregular-caravanas-vega_0_893010738.html&prev=search and there are several other on-line entries that confirm this, saying that height barriers have now been installed. webby1
You were moved on but want to go back ????? I believe that there are nearby campsites you can use and put a bit of cash back into their economy............
Derek Uzzell
Depends how you define “nearby”... These links show several campsites in the area, with the nearest being at Motril about 12 kilometres away from Salobrena http://www.vayacamping.net/city/campsites-in-salobrena-en https://www.outcamp.co.uk/campsite-city/40672/camping-salobrena.htm The most recent on-line information about Salobrena motorhome parking seems to be these February 2015 articles http://www.theseasidegazette.com/2015/02/30336/camper-home-city/ http://www.theseasidegazette.com/2015/02/30417/salobrena-evicts-camper-homes/ There doesn’t appear to be anything on-line to suggest that a campsite has been opened there, or that motorhome parking is now tolerated again, but emailing the Salobrena Tourist Office or The Seaside Gazette should allow the current position to be confirmed. Mackyjane
If there was a campsite or camperstop "nearby" we would use it. We are not freeloaders and will happily pay. We love Salobreña- it's a beautiful town. Unfortunately the council are blind to the benefits of motorhomers in the winter. There are few tourists in the town, yet still bars and restaurants stay open. We feel we are "putting money into the economy" by using the local amenities. By not providing somewhere, and actively evicting us, the council are taking away from their local businesses. I did write to them last year, but never even got an acknowledgement. That being said, we might still go back and see!
