I dunno about that. But the gutter press obsessed with pedophilia remind me of something that happened in the House of Commons about 30 years ago. A new inexperienced (Tory) MP was making his first speech. It was condemning child abuse or something like that. Gradually other MPs started chuckling until the whole house was engulfed in raucous laughter.

Did the other MPs think child abuse was funny? - of course not.

They were laughing at him - the inexperienced MP's crude attempt to jump on a bandwagon with something nobody is going to disagree with, and support him without looking to closely at him and why he was doing it.

Members of Parliament could see it for what it is. Wheras the masses reading the gutter press probably can't :-S

The MP you are thinking of was Geoffrey Dickens who was often viewed by MP's on both sides of the house as a "bit of a buffoon" or "a clown" who regularly made gaffes in his speeches. He went on to compile the infamous Paedophile dossier, the original of which conveniently 'went missing' after he'd handed it to the Home Secretary Leon Brittan. Too many names of 'pillars of society' and the establishment. That's why the likes of Savile got away with it.

Dickens also had his home broken into after handing the dossier over.

The Paedophile Information Exchange (PIE) was well known in the 70's early 80s with many high profile members. Sir Peter Hayman, senior diplomat and ex-intelligence officer was a member. Thatcher saw that was kept quiet.

You're confusing paedophilia with sex with gay adult male prostitutes. If someone wishes to engage in the latter, whilst foolish due to holding a position in public office, it is not illegal. You must also surely know that some married men and women indulge extra marital sex be it casual flings, one offs or affairs so your point in reference to Keith Vaz bears no relevance at all.

I hadn't heard any more about it since the speech in Parliament that drew all the laughs. So I have learned a lot from reading those links, Thank You.

I suppose the likes of Sir Leon Brittain would think we have the best legal system in the world, he did alright out of it

I don't know much about the porn laws, but have plenty of experience of speeding and parking laws so I guess its run on the same lines. The law is made for the convenience of the police and the courts - so petty offences which are easy to prove - speeding and parking - are what most resources are devoted to - rather the dangerous stuff like Dangerous driving because that's difficult to prove.

Similarly child abuse must be more difficult to prove than possessing offensive images - especially when the courts define whats offences - so they devote more resources to people possessing images than abusing children :-(

I don't even know whether possessing 'obscene' images leads to child abuse - for all we know if they get their satisfaction from looking at images it might stop them abusing children?

Sir Jimmy Savile KCSG OBE didn't even own a computer. Perhaps if he had downloaded 'kiddie porn' and got satisfaction from that it might have stopped him abusing children :-(

I think Dickens did a lot of good work. He had a pretty rotten start in life being in foster care until eight years old and his mother abandoned him altogether. He suffered from Polio at 13 spending two years in hospital.Seems he was quite a fighter though in other ways as he became a heavyweight boxer and even fought Henry Cooper. Out of 60 fights he lost 20 so not a bloke to mess with!

Whilst there will always be banter and taunting to a Tory MP from the Labour benches and vice versa, i was just surprised at how his own party MP's treated him with apparent disdain. I think it was partly that which fueled his determination to compile his dossier on Paedophilia within Westminster which certainly didn't make him Mr Popular, but i doubt that bothered him. His dossier certainly bothered a number of high profile people though.

Savile has gone down in history as UK's most prolific Paedophile after hoodwinking the public for years though those close to him always knew at least to a degree, and just look at the list of 'pillars of society' who enabled him to pursue his predilections. And who on earth was the clown who handed him the keys to Broadmoor enabling him to come and go as he pleased, even having his own 'apartment' in the grounds? Utter madness.

He is currently sitting on the justice select committee who's remit ........Is to scrutinizes the policy, administration, and spending of the Ministry of Justice. In addition, the committee examines the work of the Law Officers of the Crown, the Serious Fraud Office, and the Crown Prosecution Service. The committee also reviews draft Sentencing Guidelines issued by the Sentencing Guidelines Council.

No doubt he'll reckon male prostitutes should receive a lighter sentence if they give him a discount, looks like he didn't like the idea of his supply of Polish hookers being cut off either >:-) .....

BTW I have no time for Mr Major either, but he was a ardent Remoaner so maybe loose morals and RemOAner tendencies go hand in hand (lol) (lol) (lol) ..........

Sir Jimmy Savile OBE KCSG stayed with Thatcher over Christmas and was often seen with Prince Charles so people would think he was safe :-S

He once said 'If I go down I will take some of them down with me' - draw your own conclusions.

I guess there were so many people in authority he had the dirt on they daren't expose him whilst he was alive in case he did the same to them :-(

There is another factor of course. Our 'best legal system in the world' *-) had cost the Daily Star over a milion pounds (at a time when the average house price was £25k) just for truthfully stating Lord Archer gave money to a working girl. So none of them dare print anything about Sir Jimmy Savile OBE KCSG & Child Rapist, because he had deep enough pockets to sue them, and the Establishment on his side. :-S

Mr Vaz clearly has the morals of a alley cat, why should I or anyone else trust him with my country? :-| .......

That's a tad rich coming from someone whos knowingly been abusing the system for the past four months.

Oh yeah I forgot *-) ...........I've been abusing the NHS by being in Spain (lol) .........

You know how you've abused it as it's been pointed out to you a number of times. Instead of shooting off from the hip all the time you should think about how you judge others first as you are not exactly a shining example yourself.

Not to me......If someone wants my vote, and wants to tell me how to live my life.....then I expect them to lead by example *-) ..........

I can't ever recall a time when Keith Vaz MP held any position which told me how to live my life. However i do recall a certain Prime Minister preaching and moralising to his electorate and the country about "family values" whilst committing adultery with a married female MP......but you overlooked him in preference to pushing a totally irrelevant view.

None of which makes the slightest scrap of difference or relevance in comparing paedophilia to sex with an adult. You seem to have a personal obsession about Keith Vaz.

Kindly explain to me and anyone else who reads your codswallop, how someone who is not using the NHS is abusing it? ;-) .........

I highlight him as a example of the muppets some folk are prepared to vote for purely because they're Labour lemmings ;-) .......

Where as some of us have woken up to the "fact" that you'll only ever achieve change by changing the make of washing powder on a regular basis......or else you end up with the same scum at the top *-) ......

I live in hope that the Sainted Theresa washes whiter than white........ie she does what she promises B-) .....

I doubt she'd be involved in the very mucky water that Mr Vaz likes *-) ........

3 month rule under NHS GMSC Regulations 2004. Tell your GP how long you stay out of UK then ask him/her to enlighten you on that rule.

Rather than blowing off more rubbish why not check out the facts which speak volumes. MP for 30 years after first gaining his seat by a small 4% majority over Conservative. Since then he's gone on to increase that majority by a massive 40%. Pretty impressive......even more when compared to the shameful miniscule 3% majority of desperate Brexit lemmings.

"Fact"??!!! LMFAO......like that £350 million a week "fact" you saw on the side of a big red bus telling you Brexit would give it to the NHS? *-)

Hilarious if it wasn't so sickly sad.

Its immigrants like you paying your taxes in Spain when you are well, then coming back to England to make use of the NHS when you are ill. So when you accuse immigrants in England of using the facilities we have paid taxes for, pots and kettles spring to mind *-)

PS: I suppose now you are going to say you pay income tax in England. But since politicians hit on the wheeze of reducing income tax and replacing it with stealth taxes, that only applies to a limited extent.

Income tax? 8-) ...........I haven't paid that in years even when I was working ;-) .......But I'm still paying rates on our empty property, so that's a £140 a month for sweet FA *-) .........I still pay the stealth taxes like VAT, Road Tax etc when I'm in the UK so as far as I'm concerned my moral obligations are met :D .......
