webby1
We are gradually losing more and more coolant from our Ducato and I eventually found it collecting in the pipes, covered in lagging which go to the rear auxiliary heater. When I cut into the lagging a lot of collected coolant dropped out. Clearly a leak somewhere in one of these 2 pipes. Now both pipes come from t pieces on the top of the engine (out and return I presume) and I thought as a temporary measure, until we can get back to UK and source replacement pipes, I could cut just enough off one to be able to bend it back and connect it to the other t piece. I think this would complete the “circuit” and just leave out the auxilliary heater which we do not use anyway. Is this a brilliant cunning plan or can you see any problems
Charles
No problems at all sounds like a permanent solution to me.

colin
My one concern would be putting a short bypass hose with no heat loss might lead to a bit of overheating, so keep an eye on water temp and if necessary consider cutting and plugging pipe if there is no shut off valve.
