Hi we plan to ferry to Bilbao next June, and make our way up through France but would like to spend at least a few nights along the coast from Bilbao, we have been told the areas around St Sebastian and St Jean de luz are worth a visit, we use our bikes or public transport, from the sites to visit towns etching, so this is a consideration.

Any help advice, previous knowledge would be appreciated along with other places / sites worth looking at. Thankyou

I can also recommend Camping Orio, and it is an ACSI site. We have stayed 2 or 3 times. Lovely village (medieval) Typical Basque area Camp is close to village one way and the sea the other, with the river running along side Flat area apart from the village has steps up to church , cafes and shops for food etc,

Plenty of places along the coast in France, Bidart has several sites

Camping Igueldo is a great site for visiting San Sebastian (or Donestia in Basque) I think it's ACSI There is a regular bus into town and outside rush hour you can take you bikes on the bus, cos the site is in the mountains.

San Sebastian is definitely worth a visit BUT follow their route on the website...............into town and out following the bus.........................the sat nav may try to take you a short route and it's barely passable............we burnt a lot of rubber on that road........................but it's a great route to cycle into town via the University.
