Derek Uzzell
Not sure whether it would be significant, but I assume your Fiat Ducato-based motorhome has the 2.3litre Multijet 120 motor? There are some on-line discussions that may be worth looking at https://tinyurl.com/ycjpn6jv
griz
its a 2200 multijet engine. but nothing is showing on the dash to explain it.
Keithl
griz - 2017-11-30 5:48 PM its a 2200 multijet engine. but nothing is showing on the dash to explain it. Have you had it scanned for codes? If not that should be your first port of call. You quite often get fault codes stored without any dash warning lights coming on. Keith. artheytrate
Different vehicle but our 2011 Ford based motorhome used to do this and Ford did a ECU update and it was cured. John.
Derek Uzzell
The 2.2litre diesel powerplant in griz’s Adria Twin is a derivative of the same-capacity motor fitted to Ford Transit Mk 7s. There is a fair amount of on-line discussion about Transit Mk 7 vehicles ‘cutting out’ https://tinyurl.com/yar54lfl but (as Keith has advised) the first thing to do is to have a fault-code scan carried out. witzend
You could try when engine is running OK. Stop it and disconnect the wiring to the ERG Valve it's just to the right hand side of the dipstick and a little lower wires are looking up on l/h side of the valve. It worked for me on Identical van
Alanb
If it's any help, I had problems with a Ford Transit PVC rented in NZ. It would have been in I think in 2007. The main symptom was a prounounced almost mechanical sounding rattle from the engine. It gradually got worse until I could make it occur by taking my foot off the acceleratior at 100 kph (62 mph) and letting the vehicle slow down on overrun. After having the vehicle replaced, I was eventually informed that the diagnosis was a stuck EGR. Alan
