Bojitoes
Hi We are going to Chester in a couple of weeks time and were thinking of having a day in Port Sunlight, does anyone know if it is easy to park motorhomes and indeed what are the best things to see? Any suggestions for other sites to see in the area appreciated Thanks bob
breakaleg
Plenty of easy parking for Motorhome. They run tours by bus (not been on one) small Museum and Lady Leavers art gallery (free entry) is worth a look also nice Cafe on the lower floor, worth spending a day there. John52
Yep nice wide streets, no parking restrictions :-D William Hesketh Lever collected paintings and statues of beautiful women and children. He was pretty shrewd. This gave him the copyright to use them to advertise his soap. The message was wash in Lever's (Pears) soap and you will look like this *-) But people believe it, and it made him very rich (lol) Now we can see his fabulous collection for free in Levers Art Gallery :-D Jesse Boot had a similar idea. His business model began buying loose soap, wrapping it in brown paper tied with string as though it was something special *-) - and selling it for twice the price (lol) Like Lever, Boot gifted us a lot of nice things in Nottingham worth visiting - an oasis where parking is still free - like University Park. :-D Both companies run by totally different people now though :-(
John52
Bojitoes - 2018-04-28 5:44 PM Any suggestions for other sites to see in the area appreciated Thanks bob On a clear day you get a fantastic view from Rivington Pike - another gift from Lever. If it had been in France they would have built a road up there and a car park at the top. This being Britain you have to park and walk up there because the road is impassible for anything but a 4x4 and you'd struggle with even that. Well worth the walk on a clear day though. And its Free (lol)

Many thanks bob You can park unrestricted on Victoria Crescent for a lovely short walk over Queen's Park footbridge into Chester Town Centre :-D Only problem is a lot of people have the same idea so you struggle to find a space during the working day. Usually plenty of room if you get there outside those hours though.
Bojitoes
Thanks John but we always use sites in this country. we are booked into the M&C site at Cheshire Oaks where we have stayed several times before and we can browse the shops and get something to eat / drink very handily.
