Brock
My Hymer alloy wheels' are again in need of restoration - the first set were replaced under warranty. I think they're 'diamond cut' and I want to have them powder coated which I understand is more resilient. On the Wirral, there are no shortage of firms willing to do the work if I deliver the wheels to them. I haven't found any that can accommodate a motorhome. I do not have the tools to remove the wheels and keep the van on jacks. Please let me know if you know of a reputable firm who can accommodate a motorhome whilst they powder coat the wheels. I'm willing to travel a couple of hours if necessary.
Keithl
John, I have had my MH tyres replaced at Bannings in Birmingham... https://www.bjbannings.co.uk/ and they also refurbish alloys as a franchise of 'The wheel Specialist'... https://www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk/ It may be worth a call to see if they can refurbish your Hymers alloys. PS they are literally one minute off the M6 at Spaghetti junction and a five minute walk up the road will get you a train into Birmingham. Keith. ColinM50
I can't believe that someone from Liverpool, oops I mean the Wirral, doesn't know how to put a vehicle up on bricks and nick the wheels 8-) (lol) *-) :-)

tugga
Brock we are thinking of doing something similar, but just having the wheels refurbished not powder coated. OH will use the jack to get the wheels high enough that they spin and then put either wood or bricks under the hubs and take the wheels off. We intend to have two trips of two wheels. Brock
Wheel Specialist at Ellesmere Port did the work for me. Thanks for the lead, Keith. They did two wheels at a time from the sides rather than back and front. Kept the van overnight in their secure area. Silver wheels look good. I'm content with the work though I'm not sure I'd go as far as recommending them as I don't have a benchmark. In addition to personal callers, the franchise at EP does work for the local garages up to Mercedes/Porches from what I noticed, insurance firms and a motorhome dealer.
