Well you'd have to be in total denial to say that part of the world isn't safer thanks to POTUS Trump

North Korea speeded up its nuclear programme because it saw what happened to Saddam Hussein and Colonel Gadaffi when they gave up nuclear.

Its been brought to the negotiating table by China and Russia starving it of vital supplies.

What exactly has POTUS Trump achieved?

All I've seen so far is what Kim Jong Un has achieved.

His international media image changed from ruthless dictator with appalling human rights record - to world statesman :-S

whose team lost the election and you've still not got over it ...

whose team wiped out Theresa May's majority so she had to bribe the DUP with our money to keep her job. Whose party is so divided their Brexit strategy she took 2 years to prepare fell apart in 2 days. Have you got that yet about Britain needing transit permits from the EU more than they need them from us?

When will you get it that 'newspaper' owners domiciled in HM Tax Havens fearing an EU wide tax treaty have been leading you up the garden path, and our weakened Prime Minister is in a weak position, and isn't actually going to be able to negotiate with 27 other countries and get a better deal for us out than we had when we were in?

Only for the billionaire 'newspaper' owners who will avoid an EU wide tax treaty, and pay less tax so we have to pay more? They must be laughing at you suckers because they have stiched you up good and proper - and got the working classes falling out amongst themselves - again. Same old Tory Divide and Rule (lol)

Just run that one by me again Mr Hatter *-)

If Britain follows your suggestion and bans imports of vital components to the German car factories in Britain, who exactly will the Germans be annoyed with *-)

Who said ban? :-S ..........

We'll just charge them the same as they charge us for permits ;-) .........and as more EU lorries come to Britain than UK trucks go to the EU.....ie over 60% of those parts come from the EU :D ...........Looks like another win win for UK PLC >:-) .........

do you really think the UK will allow the French to export to us

Joe public in UK won't have the money to buy new cars after you Brexiteers have finished.

If he did not many people care about where the product comes from given most of them are wearing clothes made in child labour sweatshops.

Whatever, the car manufacturers aren't going to be making cars in Britain when you Brexiteers have made it unprofitable through parts delays and duties. Even if you have changed your mind about banning their parts deliveries altogether.

In what you have suggested it would be the UK damaging the UK economy.

But since you mention it I wouldn't be surprised if some EU politicians want to damage the UK economy if it chooses to leave the EU.

Obviously It wouldn't do if the UK were seen to be better off from leaving the EU as you claim it will be - because it would encourage others to leave.

It might cost their own economies a bit - but it wouldn't be the first time politics takes priority over economics...... .

Somewhere in all the profound submissions that I have just read, someone bewailed the fact that no one did the proper evaluation of the pros and cons of the UK leaving the EU. Silly Billy, you cannot evaluate the pros and cons of leaving the EU until you know what the terms and conditions of the agreement are. All you can do is use your imagination and try to imagine what those terms and conditions might be. ................................AGD

No you don't. There are just two extremes. What we have now, as members, for which we know the costs, disadvantages, and advantages. Against that, giving Dave P what he wants, which is to pull out of everything to do with the EU, sever all links, tell them we're not paying them any money either, and risk being taken to court. That too, can be costed - as we're now finding out - and could (and should), have been costed before the referendum, so that people could have voted with that possibility in mind.

Then, the impacts of anything that is actually negotiated will lie somewhere between the two. The only real unknown is where, on the scale the actual, achievable, deal might lie. That is the only unknown. There is no need for anyone to hide behind that lame, "it's too hard to tell, so it's a waste of time trying" excuse.

Costed = guessed ;-) ...........and we now KNOW how good Remoaner "experts" are at guessing >:-) ........

No Dave, not guessed, estimated against known facts. What do we not know that would prevent the cost of your ideal hard Brexit being estimated.

I don't care who does the estimating, so long as they're competent.

Take economists from both sides of the argument and let them come up with their best estimates, and then let them peer review each other's work to arrive at a central estimate, or declare where they can't agree, stating why. It is perfectly possible.

It's a far more sensible approach than betting the farm on a whim.

Well legally they cant have a no deal now because of the Irish Border and the odds on a second referendum have massively been slashed to 2:1 in the past couple of months.

Parliament wont allow no deal to happen.

Anyway James should be heading up the second ref campaign. Hows this for a proper rant? (lol)

Why would Transit countries like France not start making us pay for transit permits again when we need far more permits from them than they need from us?

Its perfectly reasonable to charge us for our lorries going through their country - if they let them through at all.

Your answer to that was ban imports from them and cripple our car factories

Hi,

This might give you a shock ... http://www.mygridgb.co.uk/importing-and-exporting/

Do we need French roads more than they need our electricity?

602

We need their electricity more than they need ours.

Unlike Britain, France is surrounded by other countries they can get it from.

And France is not so dependant on wind and solar power.

The Tories have closed our reliable coal power stations and replaced them with wind and solar to satisfy their political dogma against working class trade unions. David Cameron's father in law raking in half a million pounds a year in rent for a few wind turbines on his land.

Crucially they produce none on those cold stll winter evenings when demand is at its hghest.

Your graph doesn't show that - just the net amount over a month.

It would be a one sided battle for any Government to negotiate against a bloc of 27 other countries who hold all the cards.

But when we have a Government so weak its held up by bribes to the DUP, and is at war with itself preoccupied with fighting internal battles, its lunacy - except for HM super-rich tax havens whose main interest is escaping an EU wide tax treaty.
