New rear light cluster

"I've pranged a rear light cluster on my Chausson Flash 11"

A quick look online for pictures of a Flash 11 suggests that it has the same (or very similar) rear lights to my Welcome 610. These are individual circular light units for stop/tail, indicators, fog & reversing lights fitted into to a (presumably Chausson specific) moulding fitted around the rear corner.

If you just want the individual light units, I could get details from mine if that would help. If you need the moulding that the individual light units are screwed to, I suspect that you are at the mercy of Chausson.

Did you collect all the bits following the prang that could allow the moulding to be "re-assembled" if it is the moulding that is damaged ?

Eddie’s Flash 11 is a 2010 model, but the attached photo of a 2011-registered version confirms Nigel’s analysis.

The Chausson’s rear corner moulding is probably made of ABS and might be repairable. (In fact, I’m quite surprised that Chausson would be able to supply a new moulding for a 2010 motorhome.)

In a similar vein, I've cracked one of my rear corner bumpers and lost a little bit of it. It's made of ABS (??), not fibreglass. Apart from melting the plastic with a soldering iron to close the gap, anyone know what adhesive sticks to ABS?

A solvent adhesive is available for joining ABS pipework - eBay item number: 173295357780 is an example of a "universal" PVC & ABS adhesive, but I am aware of specific ABS products available from plumbers merchants & specialist suppliers. We use this product https://www.pipestock.com/abs/abs-accessories/abs-solvent-cement for ABS cooling water pipework on vacuum furnaces at work.

AFAIK, this melts the surfaces to be joined - it isn't gap filling.

There is a fair amont of advice on repairing ABS mouldings (example here)

https://www.practicalcaravan.com/advice/31934-trade-secrets-caravan-bodywork-repairs

and repair ‘kits’ are widely marketed

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BROKEN-CRACKED-PLASTIC-MOTORBIKE-FAIRING-REPAIR-KIT-/370357755531

How simple (and/or practicable) a repair might be will depend on the type and extent of the damage, the skill of the person carrying out the repair task, and the standard of finish required for the repaired component.

Great info guys. The ebay image isn't the right thing I'm afraid, it's the moulding, and although we didn't get all the bits, we do have the main bit so I might look at patching it.. Otherwise, as you say, I guess I'm at the mercy of the dealer.

Thanks for all the help.

Hope you get yours sorted emclaughlan and thanks for the suggestions to fix mine. Tried some plumbing glue for waste pipe and it worked fine. I'd broken off the mounting lugs so cut some bits off a piece of white gutter, stuck it to the bumper then stuck the whole thing on using Soudal Fixall sealant (brilliant stuff, better than silicone) Looks better than the original, so again, thanks all.
