Relatives of a 98-year-old World War II veteran have released a picture of him fighting for his life in hospital after he was robbed in his home. Ex-telephone engineer and widower Peter Gouldstone is hooked up to tubes after suffering serious injuries, including two bleeds on the brain. Seems even worse when its an old person, although if I'm going to get crippled in a fight I would rather it be when I'm 98 than when I'm 18. Seems like the type of guy who would fight them. Perhaps any burglary could end up like that. You do have to look behind the headline sometimes though. Someone grabs a purse - it turns nasty - someone gets killed and the purse turns out to only have 50p.
