fesspark
Hi all,If you can recall I had a voltage,/battery charging problem with my new Burstner 680G, finally I have it fixed, the Battery that was fitted was duff.so they supplied me with a brand new Varta 95a leisure battery. As I wanted 2, I have purchased 2x90amp Varta,s and all is fine except How do I sell the new 95A I have as they are heavy as you know? The cost new for them is approx £189.00 so if I could sell for about £100 that would go towards the £220 l have paid out for the 2 cheaper ones.any ideas as the problem is weight for parcelling and selling on line? Thanks fesspark.

But they are about half your price - new: https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/VARTA-Blue-G3-Heavy-Duty-Car-Battery-95ah-Size-017-595-402-080/1836916939?iid=123326440193&chn=ps
StuartO
Selling "new" batteries as a private seller is fraught with difficulties, not least that you won't want to offer any sort of guarantee and the postal regulations for batteries are challenging. EBay doesn't work all that well for collection only sales. I suspect you would have to auction it and wouldn't get much for it.Why don't you keep it as a spare battery in the garage? Just remember to charge it overnight once every six weeks or so and you will always have a 12v source for jump starting or testing lamps and circuits. Derek Uzzell
It’s perhaps worth highlighting that the battery fesspark would like to sell is a 95Ah Varta Professional Dual Purpose AGM as advertised here: https://www.tayna.co.uk/leisure-batteries/varta/la95/ This May 2018 thread provides background https://forums.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Motorhome-Matters/help-required-ref-leisure-batteries-/49413/
derek pringle
Hi, Looks like you have found a way of advertising your battery on here. Otherwise you needn't have put all the details /prices and sale figure in your post. good luck/hope you sell it derek
Derek Uzzell
Putting an advert on the Gumtree website might be worth trying. The trouble is that fesspark’s AGM battery is a specialised type. I can imagine somebody might want it if they lived near fesspark and could collect it easily, but I’m doubtful that they’d be prepared to pay £100 (or thereabouts) for a 2ndhand battery despite it being only a few months old and a new one costing near £200. The Blue range uses much lower technology and construction.

Yes +1. I'd buy it but you're a long way from me in Cambridge and shipping would be an arm and a leg.

I couldn't see that from the opening post.. another nomination for my Duke of Edinburgh's Award :-D But you could pay that for a standard battery if you went to a place like ECP and bought it over the counter. You only get sensible prices by ordering online first in one of their perennial sales (lol)
