Derek Uzzell
Evidently (according to the July issue of “Le Monde du Camping Car” magazine) in order to meet the latest Euro 6d-TEMP emissions standard, there will be changes to the motors currently fitted to Peugeot Boxers/Citroen Relays and to Fiat Ducatos. The 2.0litre BlueHDI 130hp and 160hp currently used for Boxers/Relays will be replaced with larger-capacity 2.2litre BlueHDI 140hp and 165hp powerplants, with the latter getting a 20Nm hike in torque. Service intervals will be 50,000km or 2 years and the timing-belt change interval will be 150,000km or 10 years. From a very short throw-away piece about Ducato, it seems that current 130hp and 150hp 2.3litre motors will each lose 10hp. (No mention of what happens to the present 2.3litre 180hp unit.) Perhaps more interesting is that it seems to be well known that Ducato will be getting a ZF-made 9-speed automatic gearbox as an option. Although there’s no information yet regarding when this transmission will be available, apparently the price of the option will be around €3500. (It’s not said whether or not this would mean the end of ConfortMatic.)

Derek Uzzell
There’s also news of revisions to Ford Transits involving reductions in the weight of various components (eg. the rear axle of RWD variants) and the option of a 10-speed automatic transmission. (I’ve no idea if that means ten forward ratios, or nine forward plus one reverse.)
