I find your obsession with watching the pound go up or down every day is rather pointless - it's the future that counts.

It's quite interesting actually ;-) .......

Plus it's been funny watching the Remoaner press claim the pound has plummeted against the euro, when its actually been trading between a very narrow band ever since the vote (lol) .........

The pound euro hasn't been so stable for years B-) ............

Were the Remoaner brigade right about "Their predictions" that following a Vote to Leave the UK would enter an "immediate recession", and 3 years after the Vote we would have 860,000 job losses? ;-) .........

No - obviously they weren't.

( But we knew that was just part of the competing cr*p from both sides of the referendum campaign ).

Are the Brexiteers right about us having a brilliant prosperous future outside the EU ???

That's a much more important question for which we will have to wait for some years for an answer

So how do you feel 3 years after the vote and the UK economy is doing great despite what the Remoaner brigade have predicted? ;-) ........

Just Askin? :D ......

So how is this a sign of an economy that is "doing great", 11 years after a major recession that we have yet to emerge from? http://tinyurl.com/o7sg8sd

The reason the debt is rising (and it's government debt, remember) is that the structural deficit hasn't been fixed - after 11 years! And both Johnson and Hunt are advocating an uncosted spending spree (plus Corbyn's is even worse). Which of those used to call itself the party of sound money? Sound money? Phooey! :-D

That's great news. That's got rid of all my concerns.

We can all relax now because Daves' infallible " gut instinct " says everything is going to be o.k.

Thanks Dave.

Incidentally - if you have found it so unpleasant living in an EU country for so many years - why haven't you moved to a country outside it ?

pelmetman - 2019-07-17 10:25 AM

Seeing as Spain has been a net benefactor of our EU contributions.......I see it as getting payback on our investment :D .......

That wasn't what Malc asked you though.....this was what he asked you.

"if you have found it so unpleasant living in an EU country - why haven't you moved to a country outside it?"

You actually find life in an EU country so "unpleasant".....you spend half the year in Spain. You're a hypocrite which most fm's saw through long ago, even a poster from Belgium.

But the bind is, leaving your "expensive club" will cost us even more than staying in. How is that sound money - even for a Conservative of convenience? :-D The wise money is on staying in: because it brings the biggest economic return.

Trump's 'go back' language violates federal anti-discrimination law

Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., and Twitter users made the case that President Donald Trump's racist tweets telling four progressive Democratic lawmakers to "go back" to other countries use language that violates federal anti-discrimination law.

"The EEOC cites 'go back to where you came from' as a classic form of discrimination that violates civil rights," wrote Kaine. "The President’s bigoted words are so contrary to who we are as a country that we literally have laws against them."

Excellent......now you just need to enforce those laws and drag the racist bigot into court.

Seeing as the EU exports MORE to us than we export to them kinda shoots that argument full of holes ;-)........

What would one more court case matter to the many he's just paid off as he always does? How else do think his mate Epstein got away with a 13 month slap on the wrist for sex abuse, many of whom were minors, which allowed him total freedom every day, only returning to prison for the night, so continued his sex abuse whilst he was actually "in prison"? Who cut him that deal? None other than Acosta.....your love flames Labour Secretary whose now planning to slash funding that combats sex traffiking by 80%.

Well, that myth comes from a Conservative government, so I thought you'd be in agreement with them. :-D

Wrong way round. We import more from them than they import from us. They sell to us, because they make what we want. We don't sell so much to them because, er, well, because. Tricky, isn't it? Can't imagine why, can you?

On the latest (May 2019) figures we imported £20.5 billion from the EU, and £20 billion from outside the EU. We exported £14.1 billion to the EU, and £17 billion outside the EU. So on imports it's evens, while on exports we sold more to the rest of the world than to the EU, but overall we exported £9.4 billion less than we imported. And you think this is good? :-D
