robdav
Hi We're travelling with my father-in-law and he's having a problem with his Electrolux RM 6271 fridge. He recently cleaned out the gas burner because there was a smell of gas coming from the fridge exhaust vent. However, after having cleaned it, it now won't stay lit. It lights but as soon as you release the button it goes out and it sparks repeatedly to try and relight itself. We have tried moving the thermo couple more into the flame and away from the flame but we get the same result. Has anyone any ideas as we're currently in France? Keithl
Rob, What gas is he using, Calor or Autogas? If Calor then an increased smell is often a sign the cylinder is about to run out so the first thing to try is a new cylinder. Try lighting all the burners on the hob to check for good gas flow. robdav
Hi Keith He's on Calor and we have lit all hob burners and supply seems fine. It's a 2002 Auto-Sleeper Pollensa and I'm wondering if maybe the supply tube is perished or something like that.l? Thanks, Rob
747
Could possibly be a bad connection (or earth if there is an earth lead on the gas burner itself). Try disconnecting and cleaning connections related to the fridge. There should be a black box with numerous connections. Check them and the burner itself. keninpalamos
I find it's not worth cleaning thermocouples jets, and burners just replace them, but by all means clean the flu. It's always my first job when I get a van.
