Do you read the links you post *-) What is says is that business don't want Brexit - even BoJo had to admit that because he was addressing business leaders at the time. The spike in the pound actually came on the news the Brexit party announced it wouldn't contest some seats!! But business needs certainty so they can plan ahead. So even BoJo's Brexit wouldn't be as bad as continued uncertainty. At least with a known deal - even BoJo's terrible deal, they could at last start to make some plans. But the pound still hasn't even made up the ground its lost this month. If you want to see the pound rise - Stop Brexit!!!

Fast Pat
Pelmethead You do realise that the Tory increase is only down to the Brexit party voters switching allegiance as they cant vote BP in the Tory wards that they have stood down in? As these were already safe Tory seats it ain't going to change the number of Tory MP's elected.

Worst thing for business is uncertainty with a risk of a no-deal Brexit - having to stockpile, foreign customers won't order till they see what happens with tariffs and border delays etc etc. Risk of a no deal Brexit has receded thanks to the likes of Hilary Benn, and those who put the country before their careers and got expelled from BoJo's Tory Party

A no deal Brexit would hurt the pound more than the Euro (because the EU is bigger to absorb the damage). So as the prospect of BoJo's no-deal Brexit recedes, the pound recovers some of the ground it lost against the Euro.
