Larambuk
If anyone can offer advice Today we've tried to add a second house battery to our auto trail We've used the same battery and connected it in line as per online diagrams/advice Somehow after adding the second battery our main control panel has reversed and is trying to run the house electrics from the vehicle battery as if the house battery is missing. We also have a solar panel running in to the system for reference. Does anyone know what we have done wrong? Thanks in advance
BruceM
Would you clarify by what you mean by ‘inline’. Are the batteries connected as per the second diagram below?
Billggski
.....and reset the control panel to the increased Ah?
Derek Uzzell
Although the 2nd schematic shows the ' best practice' method of parallel-connecting a pair of batteries, I wouldn't have thought that connecting as shown in the 1st schematic would result in the control-panel issue described above. Perhaps a fuse has blown so that the leisure batteries are no longer recognised? (Motorhome is 2016 V-Line 605 model)
Larambuk
Hi, yes they were connected as per the diagram. We eventually found a fault with a connector in a fuse housing within the system. Replaced the housing and everything worked fine. Just a case of tracing back all our steps as it didn't make sense. Thanks for your help ?? Larambuk
We have now solved the initial problem, but I'm curious as to what you mean by changing the control panel to the new ah? I haven't as yet found anywhere in the settings to alter this? Battery indication levels is just by a means of a green light system
Keithl
Lara, To help others reply please can you confirm you have a 2016 AutoTrail V-Line 605? And if so what Control Panel and PSU does it have fitted? Keith.
