Mystery wiring fault solved on x250.

I thought that I should share this tale. A couple of years ago my 2007 pvc developed a mystery fault. The offside back light failed but not the bulb. then it was the centre locking and sometimes the wipers would fail and later restart. Several visits to my local and usually good auto-electrician followed. Eventually the fault turned out to be a multi-plug hidden under the plastic of the driver's side step. this was installed on manufacture and was upside down, allowing any water to run in !

Thanks for the info

I've just had a similar problem.

Rear lights went haywire when I used the indicators or hazard lights - classic bad earth connection.

Turned out to be the plug that goes into the OS rear light fitting - the pin that supplies the negative earth had corroded. Unplugging, reconnecting & wiggling the plug didn't fix it. I had to scrape the pin and socket clean with a pointed nail file to cure it.
