Fake news ... We've already had confirmation from a North Devon site about closure and cancelation of our stay

What’s that got to do with Devon council requesting Government directive on holiday home sites in Devon.

Do try to keep up.

Who said I was replying to you hater ??? ... Do try to keep up ... Your not that important

Idiots who went out on the lash tonight showed complete lack of responsibility. Our NHS is already at breaking point without having these selfish loons to contend with, not to mention the obvious risks of increasing and spreading the virus further.

Covid-19 killed 627 people in Italy in the last 24 hours; nearly one every 2 minutes.

The virus is spreading faster in UK than it did in Italy.

Which idiot decided it was a good idea to shut the pubs on a Friday night? It doesnt take a genius to work out that yesterday at say 5pm would have been much more sensible. It wasnt even a proper order from Johnson. Just something along the lines of just close sometime tonight when you can. Hundreds of thousands will have headed out for a final pub blow out which could have been totally avoided.

Employers would have lost a days work from hung over p1ss heads had they shut the doors on Thursday.

Those who go to a pub now are "p1ss heads" ... Presume those who go to restaurants are "greedy p1ss heads" ... Shocking hate

I now actually know someone who has the symptoms. She is a teacher, travels to school by train, in London. Probably means school kids have it and teachers and now that schools have closed all those with it will be passing it around. Lots of families heading off to the countryside for holidays, Devon,Cornwall,Scotland and passing it around.

It's school as normal for my grandchildren. They remain open to those with parents or a parent that are 'key workers'. Not sure i'm in agreement with it but thats what is happening.

Doctors battling coronavirus in Italy are ‘at the end of their strength’

Romano Paolucci, who came out of retirement to help with the country’s response to the virus, described the heartbreak of having to see elderly patients dying alone, often after having to say goodbye to loved ones over a scratchy phone line.

He is one of 70 doctors working long and exhausting shifts at the small Oglio Po Hospital, which until only a month ago was a normal provincial institution treating everything from tonsils to tumours.

Now, it has been totally converted to treat coronavirus as Cremona became the fourth-worst impacted province in Italy. There have been so many fatalities in the region that medics are ‘not even counting the dead anymore’.

Italy saw yet another record spike in Covid-19-related deaths on Saturday as almost 800 more patients died of the virus in 24 hours.

https://tinyurl.com/tfvk22r

Italy, France, Spain and UK were all slow to react where China hit the lockdown button after 30 deaths and still had almost 3000 fatalities where Italy's has now almost doubled that at 5,476.

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/italy/

South Korea has done exceptionally well with just 104 deaths......but they introduced large scale testing and tracing very early on. Lessons to be learned from there.

Amazing, flights apparently still coming in from China ,Italy and else where.

Probably returning non-resident Britons same as those that stubbornly refused to budge from Spain until the last minute. At least China has their country under control after imposing strict lockdown early on and their only new cases have been citizens returning from outside China........the same as our returning citizens are doing, the majority of which are non-resident Brits coming back from Spain but unlike China we allow ours to amble in unchecked and untested.

The death toll in Spain has now passed 2000 with 462 deaths in the past 24 hours.

Wake up UK. :-(

MPs demand Boris Johnson puts UK in lockdown as social distancing advice goes ignored

It's about time Johnson stopped dithering and pussy footing around.

https://tinyurl.com/wl3ljty

People are not bothering with 'advice'. "Social distancing" is treated as a joke. Over the weekend people flocked to coastal resorts...even Skegness FGS(!!), and Snowdonia national park recorded it's busiest day. Bikers rammed Matlock in the Peak District for their customary Sunday gathering. Campervans, motorhomes, caravans and second home owners took to the roads to plonk themselves in areas emergency services and hospitals are not equipped to deal with.

Italy has people dying in the streets now while *some* Brits carry on as though life is normal. *-)

as was the Doctor in Wuhan

My understanding is thats because those working with so many infected people would have got a massive onslaught of the virus before they could build up any immunity - far more than the average person might have got.

The point being John is age. Yes a younger person who contracts the virus should have more chance of recovery than someone much older. I also think it far too early to assess immunity if any at all and i've not heard any virologists make clear statements on that yet. There have been another 45 deaths in England alone today ages from 47 to 105 and the total death toll 335.

Strict rules banning social interaction.

Gatherings of more than two people banned. (It will be interesting to see how that is enforced given this weekends activities up and down the country).

All “non-essential” shops will be closed, with only food stores, hardware shops, chemists, petrol stations and newsagents allowed to remain open.
