Covid Test and Trace bungle

Yet another multi-billion pound bungle from an incompetent government spaffing £10 billion up the wall on a Covid test and trace system which isn't working. A further £15bn was spent on personal protective equipment for frontline staff - again with no breakdown. (Probably being sourced from some Crisp 'company' with no assets). *-)

Government had announced that Britain would have a "world-beating" test-track-trace system up and running by June 1 - but weeks later it is still failing to hit targets.

A Treasury report revealed on Wednesday the full extent of Government expenditure since the start of the pandemic in March - with a whopping £160 billion allocated in total.

The sum is almost £30 billion more than the latest estimate from the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) of £133 billion.

And in a display of idiotic isolationist arrogance.......UK could get itself locked out of EU coronavirus vaccine programme after refusing to pay. But painting a flag on a plane gets priority. *-)

Having had some experience of trying to find a decent UK care home a couple of years ago :-| .......

Being in a seaside town we had lots to visit.......

We soon learn't just from the smell which were the worst 8-) ........

MIL spent her final couple of years in the best we could find......Lovely room, dedicated non agency staff, excellent food......all for 3.5k a month........

So Boris was right to point out that some care homes were not able to deal with the pandemic.......Just as its a inconvienent truth to point out that some of the spreading of COVID19 was done unintentionally by the NHS :-| ............

If you read the link you quoted it says care home deaths in England are likely to be under reported.

What figures it gives are a percentage of the overall deaths. The latest figures for that I saw showed Britain having as many deaths in one day as the other 27 countries put together. Yet we started out in the best position being surrounded by water.

Indeed. And practical experience of reporting to NHS test and trace has shown it to be worse than useless..

This is what happened to a guy who did the right thing...
