witzend Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 Mark Wilkes - 2020-11-06 8:49 PM Hi guys and girls. Please can anyone tell me how to get rid of the service spanner from the display. I have done all the bits but I cant remove the spanner. I don't want to go to a garage.Any suggestions please. Thank you. On my ducato 2.2 2007 it was the service schedule that needed resetting the only way I could do it was using https://www.multiecuscan.net/ and resetting it I bought from https://www.gendan.co.uk/mes_chooser.php#selection if that program won't work for you phone them for advice they are very helpful
Derek Uzzell Posted November 7, 2020 Posted November 7, 2020 Mark This week-old forum thread https://forums.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Motorhome-Matters/Deleting-spanner-symbol-on-dash-screen/56585/ related to ‘button pressing’ procedures to delete the spanner warning symbol from a 2005 Peugeit Boxer. As witzend has advised - for Ducatos built from mid-2006 onwards (“X250” vehicles) - manually getting rid of the spanner symbol requires software intervention. The earlier forum thread mentions that - FOR X250 DUCATOS - the spanner warning light should self-extinguish after 1000km have been covered after the service deadline. This advice is in the relevant Ducato Owner Handbook, but it’s not in the equivalent Peugeot Boxer handbook, so presumably not in the Citroen Relay handbook either. This 2019 "Reset the spanner service light on Citroen Relay?” discussion refers https://frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=61858 and the final posting says It's the same with the Fiat Ducato as these are the same vehicles - again a dealer only option, but in order to comply with the EU legislation on dealers not being able to monopolise the servicing, I think the light goes off automatically after a 1000 miles / km of its own accord. I suggest you drive your relay for (say) 700 miles and you may well find the symbol magically disappears of its own volition.
Mark Wilkes Posted November 7, 2020 Author Posted November 7, 2020 Thank you Derek for your reply. it will take me about 6 months to do 700 miles so it looks like I will be living with it for a while.
