"Glad tidings of great joy': Boris Johnson presents his Brexit gift to Britain in Christmas video message as Tory Brexiteers AND Labour look set to back agreement in Parliament vote next week"

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9086597/Eurosceptics-welcome-Brexit-deal-Keir-Starmers-Labour-come-onside.html

B-) ............

Can't read it - my adblock plus warns of unsuitable adverts, which usually means scams.

Does it say how you are better off than EU members *-)

Iguess some people are daft enough to believe BoJo's slogans.

When he says 'Get Brexit Done' they think he really has :-S

They want a conclusion and to be able to say to Remainers that "they won". Just look at Pelmet, he is obsessed with winning and making sure he calls everyone else a looser. (lol)

If Johnson had come back with just a mouldy croissant and some duty free fags they would hail it a tremendous victory. I think that speaks volumes about them rather than us "losers".

But the last thing they want to talk about is BoJo's deal and how it compares with what we had before. :-(

Funny that *-)

So we still don't know what it is they have won :-S

None of the Eu 26 are allowed to do trade deals with.

All the trade deals achieved so far by Truss have been on the same or worse than the deals we already had with the EU. And don't forget that this EU deal does not include services at all - a mere 80% of of the British economy.

.

.... and how far have we got with them in 4 1/2 years *-)

The EU is the worlds biggest trading bloc - by a mile

Why would any of those countries be more keen to do a deal with BoJo than the EU?

(Especially now he has shown he is not to be trusted as he was prepared to renege on a deal he signed less than a year ago)

Nope services excluded. Too tricky to balance Doris's Singapore on Sea vision with EU legislation protecting employees and private investors. Biggest financial hit will be no passporting. And there's plenty of quotas in the country of origin rules- making electric cars here for the EU market will not be attractive to investors.

Interesting journalists interpretation as to what went on behind closed doors. Aka as pure speculation "And from what I hear, Frau von der Leyen also had one or two chats with Frau Merkel, her former mentor, as well."

'all those countries outside the EU' are not a trading block

PS: looks like we are going to have to go back to basics here

If you are a supermarket chain with 28 shops you have more buying power than 28 individual shops.

You also have huge economies of scale like you only have to test the goods once instead of 28 times.

This is the whole point of Putin and Trump trying to break up the EU

divide and rule

I'd like to read that document, John. Could you give a link to it please?

I would if i could Brian, i haven’t read it , its only reported in the press and also BBC news.

The UK said there are “unprecedented measures to allow UK solicitors, barristers and advocates to practise in the EU using their UK title”, as well as a “highly comprehensive deal in digital trade
