The Daily Fail lives up to it's nickname, and gets the story half right. Whereas the pre brexit EHIC covers EEA plus Switzerland, the post brexit EHIC only covers EU, so don't rely on your EHIC if going to such places as Norway.

Its your Remoaner blinkers that have failed *-) ..........

"Next year Britain will issue the UK Global Health Insurance Card.

Similar to the EHIC, it will allow state-provided medical treatment if people fall ill or have an accident in the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein.

It will cover chronic or existing illnesses, routine maternity care and emergencies.

Specialised treatment, such as dialysis, will require ‘a prior agreement’ to make sure it is available."

Your Whiner blinkers seem to work very well, the government have already posted up that you will need to buy private insurance for some countries which are presently covered by EHIC.

A European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) lets you get state healthcare in Europe at a reduced cost or sometimes for free.

Your EHIC will continue to be valid if you’re travelling to the EU.

If you’re travelling to Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein, your EHIC will be valid up to 31 December 2020. You’ll need travel insurance with healthcare cover if you’re travelling after then.

I guess that depends on when we start issuing the " UK Global Health Card" ;-) ...........

Seems to me given it's name Boris has ambitions for our health card to be valid globally B-) ..........

It will come sooner or later, it may be that other countries are added in time which would be great, I had a tooth cap put back on in Oz in 1989, not only was it free at that time, it stayed on a lot longer than any UK fitted cap ever has.

I expect that a couple of years down the line the global health insurance card will be pulled on the grounds of austerity, after all why fund "rich" holiday makers when people are using food banks. Current announcement is a PR exercise.

The entire deal so far is a PR exercise. Where is it? Has anyone seen the detail yet?

Well those that have aren't impressed, good for a few years then more arguments potentially- not what will attract inward investment

This is a brief summary of Johnsons deal. I'd like to hear from those "well 'ard" Brexity ToryKippers just what they think they've "won" as it's looking more like an unconditional surrender.

Fishing

The UK Demanded -

An 80% cut in the amount of fish caught by EU vessels within 3 years

The UK got

A 25% cut phased in over 5 1/2 years. The UK can cut further after that but must compensate EU fishermen for any loss of income in full

Level playing field

The EU demanded

The UK must abide by set minimum standards for workers rights, environmental standards and update regulations with the EU to avoid unfair competition or face restrictions and tariffs

The EU got

The UK must abide by set minimum standards for workers rights, environmental standards and update regulations with the EU to avoid unfair competition or face restrictions and tariffs.

Dispute Resolution

The EU demanded

If the UK diverges from EU standards after 31 Dec the EU can impose punitive tariffs even in unrelated sectors until independent arbitrations settles the dispute.

The EU got

If the UK diverges from EU standards after 31 Dec the EU can impose punitive tariffs even in unrelated sectors until independent arbitrations settles the dispute.

Financial Services

The UK demanded

Full access for UK Financial Services in the EU

The UK got

Nothing yet. This is not covered in the deal and will be subject to further discussion

Which is a bit of a let down because most of the UK’s exports to the EU are services and most of the imports are goods so the deal heavily favours the EU on that alone.

Snigger (lol) (lol) (lol) ..........

As you've only got four days left posting on this forum, perhaps you'd care to enlighten us all exactly what it is you think you've "won"? Try to manage a mature informed response without the usual silly garbage you spout.
