Clive_Adams
Is there any lucky members out there who have purchased a new Moho and Know what the vehicle tax is, and also what, if any, luxury vehicle tax is added.
Keithl
Unless you where unlucky enough to purchase your MH during the few months before the graduated banding for MH's was rescinded then the rate will be either LGV or PHGV as previously. https://www.outandaboutlive.co.uk/motorhomes/news/government-scraps-new-motorhome-tax https://www.outandaboutlive.co.uk/motorhomes/news/graduated-tax-for-new-motorhomes-scrapped Keith. Clive_Adams
Keith, many thanks for that so as I read it: 265 year one 145 plus 320 luxury vehicle = 465 for years 2 till 6, reverting back to 145 after that?

Matrix Meanderer
The road tax is £270 . All details here https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax-rate-tables/rates-for-motorhomes Simples :-D
Clive_Adams
Ian, IMHO anything on the .gov sites are far from "simples", we are talking of a brand new vehicle 3500 kg, 40 K plus. I think the link you sent was for existing vehicles?
Keithl
Clive, MH's are no longer in the graduated tax bands and have reverted back to the 'original' LGV or PHGV categories. So £270 or £165 respectively with NO luxury tax or year on year penalty. See the link I posted above. Keith.
Clive_Adams
Keith I am glad its 270 pa and no additional luxury vehicle tax, as I said IMHO nothing on the .gov site is simple.

Derek Uzzell
Motorhome VED (road tax) significantly altered in recent years in two stages. The first stage was to move motorhomes into the graduated ‘car’ VED classes where the cost was based on a vehicle’s CO2 emissions and price. This method was dropped in early 2020 as explained here https://www.outandaboutlive.co.uk/motorhomes/news/government-scraps-new-motorhome-tax The follow-up plan was (from April 2021) to link motorhomes to a graduated VED emissions-based scheme for light goods vehicles and commercial vans. This scheme was dropped in late-2020 as explained here https://www.outandaboutlive.co.uk/motorhomes/news/graduated-tax-for-new-motorhomes-scrapped Both of those links were provided by Keith in his posting of 22 January 2021 7:03 PM above, and the latter change in policy was discussed here in December 2020 https://forums.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Motorhome-Matters/Graduated-road-tax-scheme-for-motorhomes-scrapped/57000/
