"One of the deepest faultlines of Brexit is its vindictive zealotry: to not believe is to be discounted, whatever you’re now saying.

An act of supposed democracy has stripped citizens of their sense of agency and made us the enemy rather than the epic liars now running the show."

Some politicians need an enemy.

Used to be the Argies,

Then it was the Trade Unions,

Then it was the EU,

Now its the Remainers,

I suspect next it will be the Russians

Macron has been trying to make peace but Johnson seems to be playing up the danger?

It's not about morals.

The difference is that Major didn't make shagging illegal before he did it.

... and - why would he want to curry favour with anyone - I don't think he wants to be Prime minister again..

John Major is concerned about the slow drift towards fascism and the lack of accountability that the people have to hold the government to account. If only our Institutionalised Democracy had been founded on transparency and accountability, instead of a moral-compass..

"Never forget that everything Hitler did in Germany was legal."

exactly

Johnson is still PM with the power to make or break careers, and hand out £billions of OUR cash.

So I can understand why some want to curry favour with 'Boris'

Especially when its inconceivable they could serve in any other cabinet.

Or want another bite at the cherry - whats left of taxpayer's cash.

What I can't understand is why Dave wants to curry favour with 'Boris'

Could be a number of reasons:

Seat in the House of Lords ?

A Knighthood for sycophantic services rendered ?

A million pound contract for PPE if there is another surge in Covid ?

;-)

p.s. Although I should think that just a signed photo of Boris, to go by his bed ,would be more than he's ever dreamed of.

;-)
