Benefit of a light foot.

Filled the van this morning, at £1.79 per litre. Display told me I had 525 miles in the tank. Set off for our destination, determined not to exceed 50 mph. The range display slowly climbed to 708 miles, before falling, but 153 miles later, it was on 500 miles.

On the downside, the journey seemed interminable and our friends had to phone to check we were still coming.

:D

Perhaps we should bring back public service TV adverts like the one with the slogan

"70 may be nifty, but 50 is more thrifty"

.. another one for reverse parking

"not too close, far enough forward"

.. for pedestrians

"wear something light at night"

All good advice I think

Reminds me of something a policewoman said

She reckoned cats get run over more than dogs

Because cats tend to change their mind and turn back wheras dogs keep going

(don't know what thats got to do with it but it just came into my head :-S )

Sublimably possibly the Ukraine war, as in, is Putin a cat or a dog. Hopefully the former.

I think that's probably not right. Cats just wander about wherever they want, whereas most dogs outwith the home are accompanied, and usually on a lead if near traffic.
