Deffheads Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 Having had the 'pleasure' of uninvited guests recently and caught 2 in traps, we hope our troubles are over, but we also baited the motorhome with poisoned bait. Should we leave it in situ or remove, so not in invite more pests.
laimeduck Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 I would suggest that you take out the poisoned bait ASAP. The definition of a bait is that it attracts. Any other mice in the area will detect this as a good food source and try to get it. If you have caught 2 in traps .... ( hopefully breakback traps not the so called humane traps (which are inhumane unless they are checked every 12 hours) .... why change that?Keep the traps going! Don't bother with sonic deterrents they simply do not work (20 years of research on that!) There is a total load of bull pontificated on here and other sites by people who have no knowledge. I have spent 50 years in the industry... please believe me! Jeremy
onecal Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 Hi I agree with Jeremy 100% traps are best cleared daily and re set as for the smell of decaying rodents from eating bait in a motorhome is far from nice especially if the get into a place where they cannot be removed easily.
Deffheads Posted January 26, 2023 Author Posted January 26, 2023 Thanks for the replies, I caught both in snap traps and will now remove poison bait pouches in a couple of days just to make sure they have all gone.
g7eor Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 The problem with poison is if it works the victim will go off somewhere to die and then smell usually somewhere you cant get at the body
