dougalthedog999
Hi, I have recently bought a 2007 Lunar Telstar, it's in good condition overall but the rear light clusters have been damaged at some point (see pics). I'm assuming they are custom made for the van. Any suggestions on how I can repair these or where I could get someone to make a replacement? Thanks. dougalthedog999
Just to clarify, I have managed to source the actual lights / reflectors it is the grey fibreglass / plastic? surround I'm looking for help with.

Derek Uzzell
The photos indicate that the 'surrounds' are glass-fibre mouldings and - although the damage is unsightly - a DIY repair to a reasonably high standard should be possible. A GOOGLE-search on glass fibre repairs or fibreglass car repairs near me should retrieve some helpful information.

teccer1234
I saw a clip on "police intercepters"tonight and it showed a smart car with a back light assembly that looked similar, check out the smart car back lights
Derek Uzzell
Smart cars built in the early 2000s had rear-light units resembling those fitted to Lunar Telstar motorhomes. The first two images below show the Smart and Telstar lights and the differences will be clear. During the period the Telstar was marketed, Lunar were also fitting unique 'own design' rear lights to their caravans and a 2010 example is shown below. The Telstar's light units' mouldings will have been produced in-house in the Lunar factory or contracted out to a glass-fibre specialist (eg. as Auto-Sleepers does with Cheltenham Laminating). It's most unlikely that the moulds still exist.
Globebuster1
I think you're lucky that those clusters have a bit of 'meat' on them, they are proper GRP mouldings so a good substrate to work from. Any decent boatyard/GRP man will be able to sort that, and judging by the pictures do a better job - there's clearly been some voids in the original lay up. But, as Derek says - you probably should be able to do a decent repair yourself. If you do go down that route I would fill and fair, rather than use gelcoat - then respray them. dougalthedog999
Thanks all, think the smart car ones look too different to fit. I will see about getting a cost for fibreglass repair as there are a few other cracks on the side skirt / bumper.
