John52 Posted April 6, 2023 Share Posted April 6, 2023 I have enough money and don't want to lose it, so gambling is not for me. I have a tiny percentage of my savings in premium bonds and thats it. I've listened to some of the arguments in favour, like the tax revenue from it. (Which I don't buy because so much goes through tax havens like Gibraltar, and if that money didn't go into gambling it would probably go into something that generates real wealth and raises taxes) Hard to believe the Governments position on it when so many are hired by the Gambling business to promote it eg: https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2023/apr/05/rishi-sunak-facing-calls-suspend-whip-scott-benton and even the Health Secretary Therese Coffey taking freebies from them But am I missing out on something Does anyone here enjoy a flutter?
