Oil pressure sensor

Duggee

Recommended Posts

I did read the question, but as there had been so much confusion over the oil pressure/level issue and P250A has some relevance to the oil level sensor and 9482 appears on the Fiat code list I provided a link to, I thought it worth mentioning.

The codes Duggee referred to look 'wrong' and - as you've rightly said - a photo of the readout of whatever OBD2 scanner Duggee used would be very helpful.

I provided this MHFacts forum link earlier

https://www.motorhomefacts.com/threads/hymer-fiat-ducato-2016-3-0-engine-oil-level-sensor-error.245476/

It refers to an engine oil level sensor on a 2016 Hymer motorhome built on a Fiat Ducato base and fitted with a 3.0litre motor (and ComfortMatic transmission).

The initial posting includes 4 images with the 1st showing an 'oil-can' warning symbol on the dashboard display

and the 2nd image showing a Multiecuscan readout displaying a P250A-64 - Engine oil level sensor message

I've no idea if this would have any relevance to Duggee's earlier 3.0litre motor, but it's the sort of readout I'd expect an OBD2 scanner to provide.

My understanding is that the position of the oil-level sensor on the crankcase of the 3.0lite and 2.3litre Multijet motors is much the same. Further down the MHFacts thread are a couple of photos of a 2.3MJ motor with the 1st photo showing the position of the sensor (ringed/arrowed in green)

and the 2nd photo of the motor making it very clear how inaccessible the sensor becomes when the exhaust system is in place.
