Nick the wanderer
Hi, I have been using this kind of peg for a while now and I like them, they stay well rooted and go in ok unless you hit rocks. (I use a different system for rocks) The only downside is getting them out. So I am looking for something similar that has a hole or a loop of some description that I can use a peg puller on. Something with an 8mm hole, I''ve made a puller out of 5mm bar so I don't have faff about so much. Any recommendations ?

laimeduck
My old caravan awning had this sort of peg which I kept for the motorhome. I use them when I strap down my Fiamma wind out awning. Mine have a simple welded cross piece at the to but no hole. The are basically 10 inch nails with a bit welded to the top! Nick the wanderer
Yes, something like that, thanks. I can feel a trip to a camping store coming on. There are hundreds on ebay but I do like to get a feel for stuff, see how sturdy they are.
tonyishuk
I use a length of rope with a loops at the ends. I wind the rope around the top of the peg and “hooks” and give it a good tug, usually moves them, if not, a bar or broom handle to get a bit of leverage. NOT an awning pole, they are expensive to replace. rgds
Nick the wanderer
Hi, a quick update, these are my preferred pegs which all have a hook which can be getable with the puller. The puller is the key here, makes the job so much easier. Just a little bit of work to fashion a comfy handle and the jobs a good un.
