  1. Can't help you specifically but a quick search reveals several insurance brokers offering deals, plus comparison sites. You may be better off looking for a stand alone type cover. Good luck.
  2. Hamza Yassin has taken over as club president following on from Julia Bradbury. She had 10 years in the post. Maybe that has something to do with it, I don't think they will fold, they are just changing with the times. The forum, whenever I had a look was very slow, stationary. The Oxford site closing is a shame we liked that site for access to the city. But instead the ccc has invested heavily in the Nottingham in the woods site. I do prefer the old logo myself and the friendly greeting.
  3. Sadly, it seems one of those individuals is blissfully unaware he's doing the same with Motorhome Matters You, you are the one that spoils things with your constant digging and moaning.
  4. Hi, yeah fair play it looks like Manchester has not implemented theirs just yet, I thought they had. Sheffield has because ive paid it! Unless there is some bogus website collecting money from poor unsuspecting people going about their business.
  5. + Manchester & Sheffield do have clean air zones now, maybe called something else but it is a charge for going into them. We don't mind a city visit ourselves but we tend to stay outside and either cycle/walk/public transport our way in and out.
  6. Re the roadside checks for HGV there are various sites around the country with weighbridges etc which seemed to be manned by a mobile crew almost. So when passing if they were open you may expect to be pulled in for a routine check. I can't remember the last time I even saw one open, everything else is cut to the bone so I can't see any difference there.
  7. Hi, HGV's since 2015 have been fitted with these systems, you get used to them and it is the future I guess. This sort of thing will be fitted to all vehicles including motorhomes before you know it. I have not heard of one just going off on it's own, that would concern me. Unless of course you hit a big fat bug that squished right over the radar. I would want to know exactly where that was located and be keeping it clean. Here is a video for any reader not familiar.
  8. Hi, well re the HGV they have been fitted to those for quite a few years. I hated them but you were able to turn them off, we were advised against it in incase of accident etc, but anyway the HGV driver would be experiencing the same feeling as you, being gripped by the seatbelt and everything else in the cab heading toward the windscreen!
  9. Hi, it shows the danger of using cheaper fault code readers I guess. I wonder what a main dealer would use and how much they would charge, and, would the code be any different?
  10. We stayed at a lovely site on East Mersea Island where we had to leave early at the end of July. Bitten all over by the little blighters. Could have had a bit to do with all the rain in July.
  11. Hi, I have a motorcycle that draws power from it's own 12v battery for the likes of a tracker when parked up. I have a spare leisure battery that I want to use to keep the bike battery topped up. I don't want to connect the leisure battery directly to the bike. Is there such a thing as a 12v to 12v trickle charger? This is for a storage location, there is no mains power and no solar option. Hope this makes sense, any ideas always gratefully received. Nick
  12. This works ok to the 60 PSI l need though it is slow and only used to top up. Works from the lighter socket and l run the engine whilst doing so not to drain the battery. https://shop.ringautomotive.com/rac610-analogue-tyre-inflator-12v-dc.html
  13. Hi, l use the 'clat' as you call it, just feeding a cable from the lighter socket with the engine running to save running the battery down. Have you considered a cordless tyre inflator? Save dragging around a battery on some wheeled set up.
  14. lots of preventable stuff with a bit of due care and attention I thought..
