Keithl
Is it similar to this Gaslow gauge? If yes then they are a pressure gauge rather than a level gauge and will stay in the green until the cylinder is nearly out of gas and, as you have found, will still register the pressure in the system until the pressure falls significantly. If you want to test the gauge then close the cylinder valve and open a gas valve on the hob for a few seconds. You can use it as a rudimentary leak test, if it stays green for 4 or 5 minutes after turning the cylinder off then the system is considered leak free. Keith. tonyishuk
As you have seen the gauge has red, yellow and green markings. After using the gas for a while, the yellow band starts to show, and then is the time to regularly check to monitor how much gas you are using and how quickly it is falling. Check to see you have the next full cylinder. On my system, we use has for mainly heating, so pressure tends to fall slowly using electricity and optional gas. Our use is about one propane 6.5 kg cylinder a year ! Finally, the gas test cited in the previous post is a useful check on leaks. The test on our gas system stays green for a couple of days or more, before starting to show yellow. rgds
