derek500
Camping La Plage, Meyronne in the Dordogne. "In a desire for eco-responsibility, we want to protect a large part of the campsite from waves caused by wifi. This is why you can benefit from a WiFi connection only at reception and on certain locations".
onecal
Hi Well that's a good one ,Yes and the next thing if your motorhome is diesel you may have to push it in from reception (lol 😁), or as one campsite offered us in Germany a week ago , an electrical tow to your site. Derek Uzzell
The ''in French' version of the advice might have made things clearer. https://www.digitalairwifi.co.uk/news/campsite-wifi-interference-inside-out (It's certainly quite common on French campsites for Wi-Fi to only be available near to Reception.) flyboyprowler
"But we have 250mbs so the wi-fi should be perfect" This was the situation in Spain last year, but they don't seem to realise that when many are sharing, then the signal goes down. That is why we have our own "Mi-Fi" and only use the local campsite one when it is quiet!
Tourope
We've stopped using campsite WiFi. My wife has a SKY mobile with gallons of Gbs and I have a Popit mobile with 100Gb per month. So not necessary and anyway can watch iPlayer, Channel 4, ITVX etc, abroad when using UK registered mobile, which you can't using campsite WiFi without a VPN - and they don't always work. I should add that we've always been able to get a signal on our mobiles, except on one occasion in Spain earlier this year when there was no mobile signal whatsoever. So for us MiFi not worth the outlay and campsite WiFi not needed.
