Spyder
Hi all, looking for advice. Whilst loading the MH on a windy day, the wind pulled the door from my hand and flung it open. Now the top is catching when trying to close it. I can see where, as it has cut the door seal with the locking pins. They are hidden hinges that go into the door. Can I and how do I adjust it back to normal? Reluctant to take it off until I’ve heard from others. Thanks in advance
onecal
Hi You may need a frame and seal , There was a recall , i think for some years back , Maybe you could tell us the year of your motorhome and a photo or photos of the damage Regards
Derek Uzzell
E769 models were based on a Fiat Ducato X250 'Maxi' with 3.0litre motor and Al-Ko tandem-axle rear chassis. They were built between 2007 (when production of the X250 range had just begun) and 2014 (when the X290 range took over and the 3.0litre power-plant was dropped from the Ducato line-up). As onecal says, there was a Swift Group habitation-door recall. Recall details in these 2010 forum threads. https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/recall-by-swift-of-habitation-doors.19668/ https://www.motorhomefacts.com/threads/recall-letter-from-swift.64013/
Spyder
Thanks for the responses. I ended up taking the hinge out, disassembled it, and adjusted what I could to make it tighter and it seems to have fixed the issue. Very strange hinge, just had a cog and a toothed plate in to so I don’t know if it had jumped a tooth.
