rawhide Posted April 5 Share Posted April 5 Fridge ok on gas and 12v driving, from day one on electric gets cold then after 15 - 18 minutes lights start flashing giving fault code of code 9 which is a new board, 2 replaced and also an element, it's still doing the same thing, motorhome is Burstner Elegance 681, year 2005, previous fridge Dometic , never a problem , can anyone help, regards to all Steve Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Derek Uzzell Posted April 7 Share Posted April 7 Based on your earlier postings, the situation (as I understand it) is that, not long ago, your 2005 Burstner's original Dometic RM7655-AES fridge-freezer failed due to coolant-loss, was unrepairable and was replaced by the Thetford N4145E+ fridge-freezer that you are currently having problems with. Installation and User manuals for N4000-series appliances can be downloaded from here https://www.thetford-europe.com/gb/welcome-thetford-support/n4000-series-absorption-refrigerator The User manual includes basic troubleshooting advice, with this entry being relevant to error code 9. This Thetford-provided YouTube video (How to handle error codes (LCD) - Thetford N4000 Absorption Refrigerator) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPneq8LPVZU advises that the reason for an Error Code 9 being displayed is AC heater is on when it should be off, so replacing printed-circuit boards and the heater would be logical things to have tried in order to address the problem. Assuming that your Thetford fridge was installed by a competent fitter and the repair work performed so far has been under the Thetford warranty's terms and conditions, you seem to have two choices - either to allow more repair work be carried out until you are confident that the present fridge-freezer is functioning properly and will continue to do so, or to demand that a replacement N4145E+ fridge-freezer now be provided and fitted. I notice that Thetford's 3-year warranty does refer to replacement or repair is one of their products malfunctions and 18-months is more than enough time for you to have been waiting for a successful repair.
