Mobilvetta

We looked at the Mobilvetta as our potentially 3rd motorhome as we fancied an A Class this time

Agreed, they do look good value on the face of it but after closer inspection, it was clear that they were built down to a price and weight limit and I did wonder how they would fare after a few years use, particularly parts of the trim and high gloss areas . Also check the payload you get.

There is also the concern over the service you'll get from the only dealer you can buy them from which based on reviews (and personal experience) is variable at best.

Ended up with a better quality German built coachbuilt

thinking about buying a mobilvetta K yacht 80 any body out there who has one please advise on any issues just need to check before spending that sort of money

anything about supplier or MH would be appreciated thanks.

John,

I have just posted very similar on a thread about spare wheels as the prospective purchaser had been looking at Mobilvetta's in a previous thread.

Pay particular attention as Mobilvetta K Yacht's have a VERY POOR payload!

eg The K Yacht 80 has a manufacturers 'guideline' figure of only 340 kg. In my view this is totally inadequate for the size of MH!

Hi, had the same answers om my thread more or less but am willing to take the chance. We spoke to a salesman at our local dealers and they are aware of their reputation and he said there rating is slowly going up , Aprils dealer ratings put Marquies on a silver rating in the Practical Motorhome mag. In the last couple of years we have met quite a wide variety of motorhome owners on our travels thru France and Spain and all the top end manufacturers go thru good and bad patches same as the middle level ones. This includes Hymer and Burstner, Autotrail and Swifts to name but a few. I think anything you do has an element of risk and if thats what you fancy take the chance and go for it ,life is to short.

Hi everyone ! (from a brand new novice who steps out into the unknown today).

Long story short - we've never owned a MH or even rented one, but we're intent on embarking on a new motorhome lifestyle one-way-or-another. We're going to be using it in Europe for long periods at a time (say 3-6 mths) so we're gravitating to a LHD but, as I'm sure you all know, they appear very far a few between.

It's nearly 3 months since we started looking at as many vehicles as possible and have now reached a consensus in terms budget, layout, make, type, age, etc. We also had a look at buying a pre-owned from abroad, but like-for-like, their not quite as competitive as we initially thought and seem to carry many more miles/km on the clock too.

However, we have seen a couple of Italian Mobilvetta models between 2004 - 2008 in the UK which we like, but just can't find any real information regarding specific manuals, pdf brochures, servicing, spare parts info etc, in order to glean a balanced view. Mobilvetta.it didn't have anything to offer for older models either.

So, I'm hoping that somebody may have previously owned one or even better still, currently have one. One particular model was Huari 1002.

Your thoughts, comments and opinions gratefully appreciated.

Martin :-D

Welcome to the Out&AboutLive forums, Martin.

Mobilvetta motorhomes have always been relatively rare in the UK, so there may be no current forum members who can provide you with the information you are looking for.

I notice that a left-hand drive 2006 Huari 1002 was offered for sale in Scotland about a year ago

https://www.gumtree.com/p/campervans-motorhomes/mobilvetta-huari-1002-lhd-7-berth-bunk-beds-for-sale./1306786464

but this model may be the only one in this country.

In the early-to-mid 2000s motorhome manufacturers weren’t exploiting the internet as many do now, so it’s not too surprising if Mobilvetta brochures/manuals for models of that era are unavallable on-line.

For a Huari 1002, you MIGHT be able to find an on-line Owners Handbook for the Renault Master base, and you probably could download manuals for the motorhome’s major habitation appliances (heater, fridge and toilet). Spare parts for the Mobilvetta conversion (eg. body panels or furniture) may be very difficult/impossible to source nowadays, but that will be true for most older motorhomes.

Your best bet for feedback on Mobilvettas may be the Mobilvetta Motorhomes UK Owners Club on Facebook

https://www.facebook.com/mobilvettakyacht/

though this seems to be more appropriate to recent vehicles.

Otherwise, you might try enquiring on the larger UK motorhome forums

Hi Derek,

Many thanks for reply and all your helpful information, much appreciated!

I can already see that there are so many variables to finding the right MH and certainly a thin line between striking the right balance. Just the question of LHD or RHD in Europe alone can generate so much attention and interesting slants on the subject. I do agree with both sides of coin but I guess it'll come down to what's comfortable for each individual.

Onwards and upwards then....

Here is an extract from Trustpilot on Marquis Leisure, dated 22nd May 2019. It may help the OP:

I have given just two stars as an over all rating for Marquis as a company. But this does not reflect on the staff at my local branch Devon who are nice polite people with a friendly demeanour who I would award 4stars. The two stars is awarded because Marquis are selling the Mobilvetta motorhome range that is falling short of the quality expected at least by this customer. Lack of pre-delivery inspection by Mobilvetta, many faults & damage, poor quality, poor fitting, items not working but worst of all lengthy delays for replacement parts! ....ask yourself if you think it reasonable to wait 6months for a replacement part when that function did not work from the day it was purchased?(purchase price £73k!).

Marquis, stop selling a product which has little to no customer back up!

I cannot comment on the other manufacturers on offer.

Hi, sorry to hear about your problems. We got ours a month ago and apart from a couple of minor issues we are well pleased with it. Our dealer is Marquies Preston and so far so good. Things have not changed a lot but what I have discovered over the years is that it is usually the suppliers to the manufacture thatr are the ones that seem to drag their feet, and it seems to be them that cause the delays. So good luck.
