  1. Thanks, I'll have a look at it later. We've had a couple of aborted trips to Scandinavia in previous years and it seems each time different schemes for tolls and ferries come up.
  2. What toll tag have you got? we are planning Scandinavian trip of 2 to 3 months and are looking at options.
  3. I don't know about UK, but for the French Crit-Air they use the date on V5c, this meant our Euro4 van got a sticker for Euro5 van.
  4. It's very unlikely to have been weighed at the factory, and even if it was there may well be dealer fitted options. It's best regarded as a guide.
  5. The plate shows it isn't a Maxi chassis, my only guess is that Fiat have decided the auto box needs bigger brakes so have fitted the hubs from the Maxi chassis.
  6. You saw a mild steel can being made and assumed however it was made applied to all similar objects no matter what they are made from, then you have assumed that an object which is not of the same design can be easily made by some similar method with any material, sorry but that's to much assumption. Also you have used bleach in a stainless mug and because you have not noticed any corrosion have assumed there is none, once again an assumption too far. It is a fact that all stainless steels corrode when exposed to bleach, some more than others, but if the exposure is limited there will be limited corrosion to the point where it might be minuscule. It is a fact that certain stainless steels are more suited to certain processes or uses, I don't know for certain what stainless some manufactures might use for sinks, and why they are used, but I wouldn't be calling them 'poor quality stainless', without knowing the facts.
  7. I very much doubt your mug is stamped, it will have been deep drawn.
  8. I would note that stainless is made in many different forms, it may be that to form a deep drawn sink requires a stainless that is more ductile and has less corrosion resistance, this doesn't mean that it is 'poor quality'.
  9. The last time I checked you could get BBC World News, and Sky News, aside from that a few evangelical channels.
  10. I assume they can only recognise what the vehicle is registered as, our van is registered as a Fiat with a body type as Motorhome, from that they wouldn't even know if it was a Ducato.
  11. Last years most reliable van was the Sprinter, most reliable make was Ford, Fiat came in at 10th, bottom of the table.
  12. Fiat have a website devoted to how great the Ducato is as a base for campervans and motorhomes, so using the fact it's a motorhome doesn't wash, although they have tried that tactic before.
  13. Sponsorship is a form of advertising, are people saying the CMC shouldn't advertise?
  14. A quick google shows several issues with Peugeot engines coking up.
  15. Right now as I type this gf is taking our original van battery to scrapyard. 2011 van, changed the battery in 2019 when it was 8 1/2 years old, it then went on to a life as tractor battery, a few months ago we finally deemed it beyond usefull life at 12 1/2 years old, of course when using it on the tractor a flat battery was just a nuisance which was easily rectified.
  16. If you take your battery for a conductance test, this will give a good idea of it's condition and how much 'life' it might have left.
  17. These any good? Woolies – Trim, upholstery and fittings for Classic Cars (woolies-trim.co.uk)
  18. What capacity is your battery bank? As ebl's do give a recommed max
  19. Actually I have seen several F1 cars with extra water tanks attached which emptied during the race. Motorhomes are designed to be used 'on the road', not just in campsites, travelling without water, or with little onboard when you might not find a source to refill isn't always a good idea.
  20. As above, a full water tank must have an effect on MPG, but our criteria for carrying water depends on what we expect to find whilst travelling, can definately tell how full our tank is when driving, maybe because the tank is behind rear axle and quite tall, so if we know that at journeys end there will be easy access to water we will carry around 1/4 of a tank, if we do not know whats ahead we fill to top. At the end of any trip will drain tanks and boiler, flushing a couple of gallons or so from the fresh tank through the grey tank.
  21. As it's now Christmas day I'll endorse Geeco's sentiment's. Funny enough some of the rellies are over from Oz, they are in Paris ATM and suffering from a bad case of Covid!
  22. It's pot luck as to if WiFi calling works with them, I know that some (maybe all) Nokia's don't work, some Sony's, and no Pixel's work. Their handling of this as been appalling, when gf's Nokia didn't work they blamed the phone, then when I pointed out it showed as a supported phone they blamed Vodafone saying some early versions of her phone wern't supported by Vodafone network, last summer we where passing a Vodafone shop and they kindly checked and the phone worked with a vodafone SIM, soon after gf broke the phone, she brought a Sony which showed as being supported, once again it didn't work, they sent out a new SIM, still no luck, we kept raising a case and after all the standard questions and suggestions they would say it was being passed onto tech managers and they would reply within 3 days, we never once got a reply from the tech managers. When gf and myself swapped SIM's we found her Sony and My Pixel worked fine on 1p mobile (EE network) but neither would work on Lebara, eventually got customer services on a voice call, and this one didn't do their favorite trick of cutting me off after 20mins, it was passed up the line and eventually they had to admit that WiFi calling on their network doesn't work correctly on many phones.
  23. With the C&CC, when booking by phone we've always been given ACR (age concession rate) since registering for it, but when booking online you need to make sure you click the right box, as standard it enters the first person as non ACR, reduce this to 0 then put in number of people with ACR in relevant box.
  24. Have used 'search for sites' in past, and may use them again. We are members of C&CC as they give good rates for seniors and off season, and for CS's.
  25. As this, I wasn't saying rodents haven't always gnawed wiring, but the issue has been made worse by the composition. My nabours BMW Mini was written off after standing unused for a few months, it would have needed a complete wiring loom, which due to age wasn't worth doing.
