  1. Offer that they get to use it occasionally? In any case, won't you bump against the rules of staying out of UK for more than whatever days are allowed in a given year?
  2. Don't know about Netherlands and their insurance (hopefully not as messed up as UK) but here in Slovenia the easiest solution would be that your mother in law is the official owner because insurance is tied to the vehicle not person (e.g. my wife's scottish relatives could legally drive my car when visiting). A quick check of the rules here (possibly EU wide?) suggest nobody cares about your country of residence, as long as the vehicle has all the required papers and all duties are paid.
  3. For Slovenia this might be of use https://camperstop.si/en/home/ Croatia is really touchy and strict when it comes to any sort of over night stays (at least during the main season and in the usual tourist areas) You do not want to sleep outside campsites unless you're somewhere very remote and leave early. But with so many campsites around I wouldn't bother. Bosnia, Kosovo, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia ...nobody cares much but again, there's plenty of semi(official) options.
  4. Driving with engine off is illegal so they can get you for that using the same device 😉 Honestly though...finally. Just surprised this is in UK where you don't have that much of a problem with every garage mechanic/tuner advertising DPF/EGR "delete" to get some more power. Or rusty old buckets with obviously visible clouds of smoke (and numerous other problems) still passing the MOT and everyone turning the blind eye.
  5. The way I see it, Adblue can develop particles/crystals over time which won't do much good to the SCR system as a whole. Since most containers aren't clear you're going to have some problems figuring out whether that happened to you or not. My oldest pour was close to 2 years old and there were no issues. 12 months is a conservative rule of thumb, I've seen 3 years mentioned as absolute max under optimal storage conditions (<10°C) but if you want to dig further you might as well order and read the relevant ISO standard https://www.iso.org/standard/66410.html
  6. I got some 10l canisters on sale from Lidl once. It was even cheaper than at the pump. But canisters are far too much of a bother when it comes to pouring in and usually more expensive anyway.
  7. Just thought I'd share this here since quite a few people might charge their ebikes in a motorhome. Don't leave those batteries unattended. Also, don't charge lithium batteries when they are cold (below 5°C) https://www.autoevolution.com/news/hundreds-of-e-bikes-start-fatal-fires-should-you-be-worried-216961.html
  8. LFS is a starter batt. LED is an EFB replacement for the old LFD. It works just fine like the old one did.
  9. Ultimately decided on a small parking area around Votsalakia beach and its sports compound. Relatively quiet after most of the partying ended (Piraeus was busy at 1am!) In the morning realized parking areas around the marina and olympic stadium would have been just as fine or better.
  10. Been up and down the baltic states a few times on way to Finland. Slept one night wherever it caught us and continued through to Poland/Finland. Not that much to see, but that's just me. I like anything but flat landscapes.
  11. Depends entirely what you normally use the bikes for. If it's just about hopping to the shops and inner city tours then no, not worth the trouble. If you like riding all sorts of trails on a MTB or chasing KOM records on a road bike then it's completely worth it.
  12. Quite a big one. Just got mail yesterday from customs asking me to pay import handling fees etc. on a 10£ t-shirt sent as a gift. Took me 30min to understand and fill out the forms. It would almost be simpler and cheaper to fly and get it in person.
  13. Yeah, found the first option but it closes automatically at 22 and we'd be arriving off the ferry past midnight. Second might work. Or simply some quiet street, we've done those before. Alternatively we might be taking a ferry that will avoid Athens altogether. Seems to be cheaper even though it's 3x the length.
  14. Arriving off the ferry sometime past midnight I'll be looking for a place to sleep as soon as possible as we have 2 young kids. Anyone have any experience with the area?
  15. I've never had bikes or other rack mounted things included in the lenght with regard to ferry or toll price.
  16. Been there a few times in summer and winter. Must say I preffer winter. And there's no shortage of places to get away from people. It's a bit of a drive though. Norway is longer than getting to Norway itself. Coastal roads (up to just above Bergen lattitudes) were mostly clear even in February, maybe some wet snow etc. on occasion but warm atlantic really does keep it quite mild along the southern coast. Price wise... I found ferries refreshingly cheap compared to most of Europe. Food/non alcoholic drinks and other things relatively reasonable in shops. But the moment you need anything done by someone, like serve you those drinks & food, be prepared to pay a lot for the privilege.
  17. Will Prowse is doing lots of cheap LiFePO teardowns and there just is no pattern to what you might get. Some are quite decent build quality, others are appalling. Personally I wouldn't be gambling because unless you open the case, you just don't know what you got. With a known company I assume there is at least some quality control you can count on but who knows... One recent video here
