  1. The injector symbol is a check engine light on earlier Fiat Ducato vans, I expect the £75 was for a diagnostic check, using the required equipment, which showed a fault with the engine cooling fans (fuse/relay/wiring) and would hope they checked the fuses and wiring, if they were ok, decided that the relay (s) were at fault.

These fuses and relays can be found in the fuse/relay box that is under the bonnet.

You could try www.coastalmotorhomes.co.uk to see if they have the relay (they may need to know if you have a X230 or X244 model Ducato)

  2. I would not expect the fridge to work off the batteries except when the engine is running and the problem, as suggested, on the 240v side, could be a faulty fridge element, have you have checked the 240v feed to the Motorhome is ok and the trips and mains switches within the Motorhome do not need resetting.

  3. That looks like a C200 CWE model , the pump is in the water flush holding tank and is replaced by removing the top blue press button plate on the top (prizing it upwards) and removing the 4 x screws under it which holds the second cover in place which allows access to the pump.  There is a U-tube video showing this , Thetford C200 CWE pump replacement , which shows this and should help . (you may find it just needs a clean to free the impeller on the pump off)

  4. On your Autotrail there should be a fused interface module (EM40) behind the drivers seat that is a link from the Fiat systems (including central locking) and the  habitation EC176 PSU and it would be worth checking all the fuses in both of these units and , if possible ,  the connections on the rear of the EM40.

If these are all ok it may be worth talking to Sargent Electrical support on 01482 678981

  5. It would  be worth checking the alternator main output cable for corrosion/ poor connection at its connection to the alternator and main battery positive cable at the starter battery.  Also , in case the engine/gearbox to body earth cable is faulty ,  it would be worth replacing it (or adding another) as a problem with this cable can also cause poor charging . (internal corrosion between the cable and its terminal causing a resistance)

Hi Derek, thanks for your reply, yes that's my van.

What I am really looking to do is for a mirror which will sit along side the existing mirror but angled forward and down to be able to see front bumper. I have seen some on lorries but never been able to get details etc.

Plus the other possible problem is "where and how" do you fit it securely. ??

The company I suggested (magnumvs) supply  lorry blind spot mirrors that clamp to the existing  mirrors and other types.

  7. That is an Energy Managment system (EMS) control panel you have and , as suggested , it would be worth trying apuljack electronics or Aandacaravanservices to see if they can help as Energy Managment Products ltd ,  who produced the EMS Motorhome power control system along with its A and B control modules  , appear to no longer to support it.(If they still exist)

Or you could try www.nationalcaravanbreakers.co.uk , who also have Motorhome parts , to see if they have a replacement.

  8. If you have a Sargent EM40 interface fitted (normally behind the drivers seat) check the fuses within it , and if possible the connections on the rear of the unit . (check for tightness and signs of overheating of the multi-plugs)

If you have not already done so ,It may also be worth trying a complete shutdown for a short time (5 mins) using the black shutdown button on the EC500 PSU.

Sargent Electrical technical services are normally very helpful if none of this works.

  9. The problem may be with the relays , or their connections , including earths ( Split charge and fridge/step ) ,that you should be able to locate under the bonnet near the starter battery (they may be behind a cover) . There should also be a small fuse box there which would also be worth checking for possible faults .
